Hi all, I'm a new mum and children's author about to launch my second book 'Wolf's Wishing Well' next month. My other book 'The Cat who Couldn't Cook' launched last year and kicked off my early literacy series which I'm developing to help young learners explore the alphabet, and build confidence around language. Ideally for 4-10 year olds. Please take a look at my website or visit my Facebook page The Cat who Couldn't Cook - Early literacy series for children. They make great gifts, so start your collection today, and help support a local author!

I can't start any new Topic of the day, because the computer?? won't let me type anything in the comments box, BUT it keeps telling me to. Can any one help me. I don't know which windows I am running. Thanks
SarahK - 8:17 AM on Sun-9-Jun-2013 reply | message
Hey theboysmummy, there were are few of us, including me, that were having problems. If your running on internet explorer 10. All the problems have been fixed now, so what you may need to do is clear the cache in the internet history.
To do that, go to internet options then under browsing history, click delete on and choose everything except passwords. Hope that helps :)
thecoffeelady - 9:41 PM on Sat-8-Jun-2013 reply | message
Yes a few are having that problem, Julie should be able to help you with that.

Is anyone else having trouble with the comments boxes not coming up? I'm not able to make comments on posts or put up new topics?
Sparky - 10:39 AM on Wed-30-Jan-2013 reply | message
Argh.. lost all photos from December and January as computer broke down. Boo hoo. Everything on computer lost but upset most by lost of photos. Luckily I'd put a few up on Facebook. Thank goodness for Facebook. I've asked everyone to send me their email address again and got back up of some of the photos. Lesson learnt - back your photo's on a regular basis. I was just about to back them up as guests had just left our house after saying for 3 weeks and computer crashed. Cannot believe it...

I am going back to work full time but my hubby works for St John, shift work which is different each week. He can take care of our little girl on his days off but because this is different each week, we can't find care for her for the days we are both working. I have tried Porse and Home Grown and they have said no and day cares want her there the same days each week. There must be others working for emergency services, i.e. ambulance, police, fire, what do they do? A nanny for one child is very expensive.

Hi vam, I invested in a digital thermometer like SarahK mentioned. It was about $80 four or five years ago but makes taking the kids' termperature so much easier (and more reliable).
vam - 8:50 AM on Tue-18-Sep-2012 reply | message
Thanks for your reply SarahK.
SarahK - 9:30 PM on Mon-17-Sep-2012 reply | message
Hi vam. I have found the best thermometer is the ear thermometers like the ones the drs have. Im not sure how much they cost now. I brought mine over 11 years ago now. It was quite expensive but has been the best investment ever!
vam - 3:31 PM on Mon-17-Sep-2012 reply | message
Just wondering if anyone could tell me what the best thermometer is for baby? Thanks

Hi, I am looking for a cot mattress but have been reading about how toxic the materials in standard mattresses can be. Also I hear some of them get fumigated for insects which can not be healthy for a tiny baby to breathe. The two natural alternatives I have found are a natural coconut fibre and latex mattress from Innature or a futton from Nature Baby. Both are quite expensive. Does anybody have any other ideas?
