Mexican is not something that has ever featured on our household's menu before. We do plenty of Chinese, Indian, Vietnamese and Malaysian style cooking ...... but Mexican is a bit foreign to us! My first impression was that it might be a bit spicy or have a bit of a kick to it ..... that could be a bit of a problem with a fussy 3 year old. But I figured if the meal fell flat on it's face at least he could eat the grated cheese, carrot and empty taco shells for dinner! My son was actually quite intrigued with the whole "dinner in a box" concept and wanted to help prepare the meal - a definite positive start when trying to introduce a new meal. One of the Taco shells suffered an untimely end early on in the process (hmmmm, did it fall or was it pushed?!), but it was quickly eaten by both of us, and kept Master 3 hooked and wanting for more. We served the Tacos with a variety of salad filling, and chicken as the main ingredient - it was so easy to prepare and the table looked so colourful and healthy with all of the ingredients ready to go. I need not have worried about the seasoning being spicy as it was actually really nice, and complimented the salad ingredients well. My son enjoyed the novelty of the meal and ate well. He did however find it quite tricky to eat the Taco shell with the filling in it, as there is obviously a bit of skill involved in not having it all fall out, but at the end of the day he ate all of his chicken, most of the other fillings and of course the Taco shell! After trying the Taco kit I had a look at the supermarket to see what other options there were, and have since purchased the Enchilllada kit. These look just as tasty, and possibly a bit more manageable for a 3 year olds hands and mouth! I found this trial really helpful as it has added another country to our repertoire, and introduced new flavours to our palate. I get a bit sick of cooking the same thing all the time so it was nice to venture out and be successful at the same time.

The taco kit was great. We have great discussions about what to put in them. We all really liked the taste and how easy it was to make. My 7yr old daughter did say that she thinks they should make a snack size taco which I thought was quite valid! the width at the bottom made it easier to stuff but did mean it broke while eating which was ok, but my 7yr old also said if the tacos were thinner at the bottom they could put a cardboard stand in the packet to help. all in all messy and yummy would buy again as everyone please by the taste. thanks for the chance to try.

Wow what a fantastic kit! As I am a single mum and only me and my son in the house I invited some friends over for dinner to share these too! We had Chicken in them and followed the directions as per the packet. We added lettuce, carrot, cucumber, spring onions, tomato and mushrooms, they were simply divine! My son didnt have all of the ingredients as he is not so keen on the mushrooms and cucumber, but he really enjoyed them and wolfed it down so fast!! My friends that came over were very impressed and said they would defintely go and buy these for themselves! The only downfallo for me is that there are 10 in a pack and would be too many for just me and my son, not sure how they would keep after opening the pack and if they can be kept frozen? But I would definetly buy again for when friends come over, quick and easy to prepare! Maybe I will try and freeze them next time see if that works? Thanks so much for the trial!

I love having everything in the one pack and just having to throw in whatever salad veges were left over on the night before shopping day. Really quick and tasty and would have been healthy if the husband didn't turn up with sour cream when he heard tacos were on the menu. Will definately have these again!

I found the taco kit so easy to prepare, It was great that everyone loved them and its a healthy meal too. I tend to get stuck making the same stuff every week but I will definatly be making these again

We were heading out to a friends for dinner and I wanted to take something quick and easy for my boys (12, 10, 9) to eat while we were there. It was just so easy. I had most of the ingredients in the freezer/pantry and the chicken was easily cooked up on the BBQ. Here are the boys reactions to their tacos: Master 12 - "Delicious. Can we have them again tonight?", Master 10 - "Delicious. I loved the chicken flavour". Master 9 - "Can we have them in our lunchbox?" ....With responses like that I will definitely buy them again. Thank you for letting me review them.
bereca - 11:23 PM on Sat-22-Oct-2011 reply | message
This was very easy to prepare. The fillings we used were lettuce, grated cheese and carrot, tomatoes, avacado and chicken. We lay it out on the table and everyone made their own combinations. There were requests from everyone for more and everything was eaten. I would recommend these kits to others and will definately be stocking my pantry up with these for those nights when you just don't know what to make! Thanks Old El Paso and Kidspot for allowing me and my family to review this product :)

@Matted, I wasn't picked either for this, but that is the luck of the draw with the trials and its the only way to try to make it fair for everyone :). I have lucky enough to have been selected for others so you don't need to be unhappy about it, I'm sure you will be lucky one day soon :)

The kids (6 & 4) were both very excited when this box arrived at the door. We occasionally have soft tacos but have never tried the healthy hard tacos before. It made for a super quick dinner that everyone enjoyed. I cooked the chicken as per the recipe on the box and we had lettuce, spring onion, tomato, capsicum, cucumber, cheese and carrot for salad ingredients. We also added a little mayo. The salsa in the box was especially yummy and not even a little bit hot so the kids liked it too. We put all the salad on the table and the kids both loved making up their own dinner. Hayden (6) and Dad were particular fans. Jemma (4) also enjoyed this but I think she found the taco shells a bit too hard. She enjoyed eating the salad and chicken separately though. I think that she found the chicken a little bit too spicy but she still ate it. The hard tacos are a bit messier to eat than soft ones so maybe that is one reason Hayden loved it so much!
After dinner, Hayden and Dad said that they preferred these to the soft tacos but Jemma and myself prefer the soft ones.
Overall this is a great quick dinner option. We have since bought another kit. It is great to have something quicker than takeaways to make as well as heaps healthier. Also, if you have kids who don't really eat salad, this is a great way to get them interested. The first time we had make your own tacos at the table, they were so busy making their tacos, they didn't realise they were eating salad!
arnabanana - 8:40 PM on Wed-19-Oct-2011 reply | message
Ok so final verdict: we ended up doing halvies crayfish, halvies chicken.

They crayfish was awesome!! I left the kids ones with about half of the flavour sachet so it wasn't so intense.

My kids are real veggie kids (brocolli, carrot, cauli), not salad kids, so they didn't like the tomato or lettuce but loved having the broken tacos to stab the cray with.

The chicken ones had the same effect, my hubby and I loved them, and the kids loved the bits.

I loved how they stood up and didn't fall over even as I was stuffing them. Easy peasy Mexican with no fuss. I'll be buying this product. Brilliant!

An absolute treat, this kit was so easy and delicious. We used beef mince instead of chicken, but they still tasted amazing. Our two year old loved them, though he did pull it all apart and ate it all separately, even breaking the taco into chip size pieces, I think he had fun. Thank you :)
olga - 3:18 PM on Wed-19-Oct-2011 reply | message
This was so tasty! I love Mexican food but it takes some time to prepare and with a 1 year old it is always a challenge to find extra time for such treats. So with this Taco kit life becomes easier and delicious in no extra time. We used fish - warehou - instead of chicken - it has similar texture and amazing taste. Big success and a very healthy lunch!

This meal was fantastic - nice and simple to make. I have just had my second baby so my husband and 2 year old made us dinner and they found it really simple to make. They went to the supermarket together got all of the ingredients and then made it with no fuss. The seasoning was very flavourable and went over the chicken no problem and as a family we all agree we will be getting them again - thank you for sending us such a quick and easy meal when life is so crazy at the moment!

YUM, we all really enjoyed this review. The seasoning for the chicken is delicious and I enjoyed a lil bit of seasoned chicken on a garden salad!! My kids enjoyed cooking dinner for us and this will definitely be on our next shopping list.

Ended up taking the packet and ingredients over to a friends and it went down very quickly by all. Miss 9 didn't get to cook it but she can next time ;) Found it quick and easy and everyone enjoy them as they only put on what they would eat. I found the less salty taco shells much more palatable than the originals. Out of my normal dinner price range once all the other ingredients had been bought but could easily become a replacement meal for a takeaway night (and much better for us!!!)

We had a big cookup and everyone who was anyone came over to try it out. It was a great success, the flavours were great for all ages and the nobvelty of standing up taco shells went down a treat! we had guacamole too and all the add ons, carrot, cheese, lettuce and spicy sauce to add onto the salsa for thos who wanted more spice. Not one bit was left over, and all agreed that it was light and healthy feeling, not bogging down our stomachs. It was delicious and tasty, and we'll be doing this again once a week from now onit was so popular! Thanks, El Paso for a quick and delicious meal alternative, easy for mums too cause everyone assembles their own.

We had a fantastic meal with the Healthy Fiesta Taco Kit. The seasoning for the chicken was delicious, and the meal was light but satisfying. The whole family loved it and we will DEFINITELY be having this again!!

Taco night was a big success in our family. I initially thought the chicken breast was going to fry up quite dry looking at the coating but it ended up with a really nice bbq kind of smoky finish to it. I followed the suggested fillings list as you can see from my photo. The kids loved being able to make independent choices about what to put in their own tacos. I will probably buy them again as it makes a great novelty treat meal - that is healthy! Thanks El Paso and Mums Say!!!
kazza - 6:54 AM on Thu-13-Oct-2011 reply | message
Our entire family just loved the tacos. My 7yr old helped me make them & she loved every minute!!! We didn't think they were too spicy, just right for us. Another thumbs up product trial from Kidspot, well done....we will be buying these again....thank you
lilblondee6 - 10:08 PM on Wed-12-Oct-2011 reply | message
We loved them! Even my four month old thought they looked good. The chicken seasoning was really good, not too spicy for my daughter as she doesn't like spicy food at all. We also thought that the tacos would be good with a sweet chille sauce and or a dollop of sour cream/cream cheese which would also be good to combat the chillie sauce if it were to be spicy. Definatley a product i will buy from the supermarket in the future as a healthy meal option, still has all the flavour of the normal taco kit but adds the healthy benefits for my children and us. I have added some photos for you to have a look at my family enjoying the tacos.

Master 4 1/2 loved them and demolished 2 that he made himself. We used mince and they tasted good - would look to try chicken next time. Loved the flat bottoms!

These tasted great. Only thing I would do differently next time is add more chilli to make them spicier. Everyone enjoyed them ans they were so quick and easy to make. Will defiantly purchase again in future

Well better late than never....after a visit in hospital last week an easy meal was what was needed and the healthy fiesta kit worked a treat! I threw in some rainbow mix veges into the chicken and gave that extra vege boost to the kids meal and it was yummy too!
My miss four and master nearly 3 really enjoyed the challenge of the tacos and master 1 really loved the chicken with the seasoning and all the vegetables. So thank you for the opportunity to try these and would definitely get them again!

Thank you so much! So loved having the package arrive. We found these so easy to assemble & the children enjoyed making them. A little hard for miss 3 to get around, but miss 8 and master 6 enjoyed the challenge. Would definitely try these again for an easy dinner. Thanks so much for choosing us!

We found these to be a quick and easy fun meal.
we did it as a everyone assemble their own my 6 year old loved it, and the flatness made it easy for her to use. My 2 year old didnt like them, at all. Husband found them great although wasn't a fan of the flat bottoms because it meant they werent 'man sized' for fillings.

We did the chicken version, which caused a funny conversation from the littles as they didnt want to eat them, because they didn't want chicken pox (this has never ever come up before but I guess its going around and theyve been talking about it at school etc).

I would buy these again, we really enjoyed them overall taste wise to the other ones we usually use, and am keen to try other items in this range!
Sheryl40 - 11:50 AM on Tue-11-Oct-2011 reply | message
Thank you, we had these for dinner last night. I love the flat bottoms, but this does mean you can't fit as much in!! We have had these before with mince but it was a nice change to have them with chicken. We are a spice loving family so the flavour was a bit bland for us, although we did see the suggestion on the packet to add chilli and will do in future. I'll try the tortillas next!!
mumoftwoboys - 8:31 PM on Mon-10-Oct-2011 reply | message
Very tasty, as they are a tad messy and tricky for little people to eat, I just put a chicken tenderloin in instead of chopped chicken, my 3 year old loved them but had to have a bit of help holding them. My almost 2 year old couldn't bite them, but i just broke them into chunks and he enjoyed eating them like a corn chip with toppings on them!! Easy and fun to make, the kids enjoyed chopping, and grating bits and pieces with me. Great summer meal, will be buying again!!
mumtotwo - 10:50 AM on Mon-10-Oct-2011 reply | message
We had never tried anything like this before so I was looking to trying them :) . Mr fussy 5 didn't like the shells but loved the seasoning on the chicken and ate that with the grated veges and cheese . My 15 year old loved them as did I :) I would definately try them again and would recommend them to my friends and family . Not sure what the best part was ......I loved the whole package , but I did really like the seasoning and would buy that seperately as well . All and all it was a hit in my house !
WhitiMum23 - 10:07 AM on Mon-10-Oct-2011 reply | message
Well, mixed results for our family.
DH and Miss 7 thought they were great-although Miss 7 did suggest that maybe they make kid sized tacos as they were quite hard to get into your mouth!
Mr 4 didn't want a bar of them-took one bite and then asked for a peanut butter sandwich. This is regular behaviour for him though so I don't think the tacos are to blame!
Miss 3 did eat hers, but in bits and not much of it.
I enjoyed them but would prefer tortillas or soft tacos as I know the kids would and do eat those. I also wasn't pleased that out of the box only 2 of the tacos weren't broken. If I'd paid for them I would have been very ticked off. This is one fo the reasons I haven't bought tacos regularly in the past and stick to tortillas instead.
Overall though it was great to try something new with teh kids and they enjoyed another adventure with food

these were so easy to prepare and and really yummy. I love the fact that everyone gets to assemble their own so its less work for the cook and you can make them to your own taste with your own fillings. a nice refreshing change from meat and vege. definately enjoyed them as did everyone in my household.
hsmith - 3:10 PM on Sun-9-Oct-2011 reply | message
The whole family enjoyed these. They were a bit difficult for the young ones to eat but they were happy eating all the broken bits. They probably prefer softer wraps for ease of eating but I do like the flavour of the crisp taco shells. The chicken mix and sauce were very nice too. It was extremely easy to make.
cathw - 5:25 PM on Sat-8-Oct-2011 reply | message
hey we had such a great meal. I posted the other day but I don't think it went through. Kids are sold on these but with traditional mince. Me and their Daddy liked the sauce more than they did but they are not as adventurous. Loved the ease of this and both children loved assembling their own. Quite a mess but didn't matter. Loved it thanks so much. Will be buying again and trying lots of different things. Had raw tomato and raw cucumber too .

This has to be the BEST ever idea that Old El Paso has come up with. Now we can enjoy mexican food without feeling guilty. They were devine, easy to prepare and tasted yummy. The spice was really mild so good for a family meal and finger food is always a bonus in our household :-D Thanks Old El Paso for another great idea :-D

WOW!! we had our parcel arrive this week and the kids got so excitied. Master 4 helped me prepare everything and got really envolved, and I have to say it was fun to make them with him.
It was really easy to prepare and the kids loved making their own up and so did my husband. Master 4 ate 2 whole tacos and then some more of just the salad we had which really surprised us and my miss 2 actually ate her dinner which is a rearity.
In my sons words " mum this is yummy can we have it every night". Thanks for giving us the opurtunity to review this, it will definitly be on the shopping list again.

It was a hit in our house, we also used chicken. It was easy to prepare and didn't leave a mountain of cleaning up which is great! My husband loved the spice to go on the meat! Thanks for choosing us!

Thanks so much for choosing us to review this! We made it with chicken . It was YUM! The kids loved the fun aspect of the meal and it was surprisingly filling - I think it also allowed for more talking at the dinner table because we weren't just stuffing our faces, but building our dinner...does that sound strange? I prob wouldn't buy it unless it was on special, as I find it a little expensive.
ajtnz - 8:25 PM on Thu-6-Oct-2011 reply | message
Definitely YUM. It's really quite an easy meal and I pre-prepared the toppings whilst bubs was napping to make it easier come dinner time. Even though its healthier it's still as tasty as the original version. I'd recommend it to a friend too but would probably only buy it when its on special - a treat for the family.

YUMMY was the vote for tea last night. We have never had chicken in our tacos before but it was delish. The kids love helping me make it and the flavours were lovely. We will be buying this healthy option again, thanks for the chance to try this.

We were lucky to be selected to try the Healthy Fiesta Taco's, and had them on Saturday night. I have tried the original version with mince before, but this was the first time we made them with chicken and using the "healthy" version. To mix the chicken I used a bowl rather than a bag as suggested in the recipe. This worked fine - but perhaps a bag should be included in the package, just a suggestion. We found the flavour to be really tasty and would recommend this as a fun and easy meal for all the family.
mummaduck - 7:42 AM on Thu-6-Oct-2011 reply | message
This was our dinner last night... and oh my gosh it was delicious... So simple to prepare, and so yummy to eat. The kids loved it with the chicken as it was something we had never tried with tacos before. One thing that bothers me about Tacos is that no matter how gently I treat the package, one or two of my taco shells are broken in the packet. That said, the other half still always eats the broken ones anyway :) I haven't got photos of the Tacos made up, as the kids ate them too quick :) but I do have a picture of the vegies all ready for the kids to dig in and make their tacos.
I will be popping this item onto our shopping list next week as the kids have requested it.

Thank you Old El Paso for a great, fun, nutricious family feast! The best part is definitely having a ready to go base product that you can throw anything in that you have available in the fridge. I would definitely reccommend to others; the spices were tasty enough for the adults, yet mild enough for the kids. We have had the mince version in our usual meals for sometime but had not tried chicken in tacos before. To my surprise it was a great taste and texture, the salsa complimented it perfectly. I also used 200gm extra chicken and there was plenty of flavour to coat it all. The only constructive criticism i have is it would have been nice to have the "shaking bag" included in the pack for convenience.

My family and I had these for dinner last night and really enjoyed them. We used beans instead of chicken. To be honest I would probably buy the taco shells by themselves instead of the kit as the spice mix and sauce didn't do all that much for us-- but I LOVE the flat bottomed taco shells-- they are so much easier to fill!! I will definitely be looking for them in the supermarket-- I hope you can buy them separately!

We had these for dinner last night and the whole faily enjoyed them. They were quick and easy to prepare. We put all the different vegetables in different bowls on the table and then let the children go for it. They even liked the chicken which wasn't too spicy. The sauce in the box was defintely a favourite and complimented the Tacos very nicely. I would definately recommend these to other busy families as they are quick to prepare, very tasty and an easy way to get your children to eat veges!!! We will definately buy them again!!!

We just had these for dinner!!! They were so quick and easy, and extremely tasty!! Everyone in our house loved them, even our 'chicken hating' 13 year old.
My favourite part was definately how quick it is to make up. I think it was only about 20 mins total, and dinner was done. I also love that they are healthy!
I would definately recommend these to other people, especially those with busy families who struggle to find quick healthy dinners to feed their troupes with!!
This is the first time we have tried these, as have never seen them on shelves before (we don't shop that often, so thats prob why). I will definatly be buying these again.

I also enjoyed having the chicken with just salad and salsa, once all the taco shells had been eaten! yum!

My whole family loved the Healthy FiestaTaco Kit. The spice mix was mild enough for my 4 year old - usually I have to just add a little bit to hers. My husband and I found them to be really tasty although he did add Tabasco, but he always does. The salsa in the kit was much better than it used to be as it tasted less vinegary. I actually made the tacos with Quorn (a type of veggie chicken substitute) and it worked really well. I usually make tacos with veggie mince, my husband preferred them with mince but I liked them with the Quorn pieces. The only thing I didn't like is the taco shells that stand up as I find it much easier to eat the ordinary taco shells

I will be buying this kit again as it was such a hit with all of us and would be interested to try the other kits in this range. I would probably just buy them as a treat or if they were on special though as when you add in all the ingredients it is a bit expensive

we didn't get picked for this trial but I just had to buy one last week & try it out! We all LOVED it!! out of the six of us only one child (9) did not 'love' it - but she is our child who is extremely picky when it comes to food so it was no surprise to us!! It did feel healthier! a lot less greasy than the normal taco's. Would definitely get it again - they're on special this week at countdown for $4.99!! :)

What better way to get a meal together when the rugby was on than use the Old El Paso taco kit. I had this ready in 25 minutes from fridge to table and Yum a hit with the whole family from Grandmother to children. Four of us managed to polish off the whole kit . The salsa was not a favorite in our family but only a small negative really as we did not have to add this in. Also Dad didn't like how messy they are to eat but I think that is half the fun. I was already a fan of the old taco kits, but now with the healthier version even better, and I could not detect a change in taste.

Great product, will definitely be in our next shop.

Thanks again Kidspot and Old El Paso

First of Well Done Glenfelik for taking a photo I was too busy trying to eat the tacos I totally forgot.

So when we got our package I jumped up and down, yes dinner sorted for that night perfect.

It was so easy, just had to pull out the chicken. We have had tacos before but due to my daughters allergies we have not had them for awhile. We have not had the healthy fiesta range before now. One word sums them up... YUM. I followed the instructions to a t. They were simple and easy to follow. The carrot was really yummy in them too. My daughter loved choosing the ingredients for her taco and she ate it all!! BONUS!!. We have cooked the tacos in the past in the micowave this time we put in oven (As instructed). they were so crispy and yum. Best part... the whole thing. Buy Again??... Yes definaelty I think it will be on our shopping list from now on. Why havent we tried before? As I said little Miss had allergies but are coming to the other side of them so can now have them. Hubby got to have them the next day for lunch (which he was VERY happy about). Probably only one thing would be the size of the pack we have left over tacos not enough for a dinner but too much for a lunch, so maybe some different taco ammounts would be good. :)

Thanks Ol El Paso. Enjoyed being reunited with Mexican again. We used to eat your Enchilada's a lot but they fell off my dinner repertoire (for no good reason). It was lovely to have a fresh, colourful and filling meal which is more casual than what we would normally eat. I was reminded how messy Taco eating was! Although I see the tacos now have a flatter base to help them stand, they still fall over. Reduced salt is a nice to have, however I had to add some to boost the flavour for me. Mr 3 YO had difficulty getting the taco in his mouth, but I just broke it up like nachos for him. Hubby enjoyed the chicken coating. I don't think I would buy this taco kit again, but have already purchased your refried beans and wraps for our next Mexican creation. Thanks for reminding us how tasty Mexican is.

mmmmm Taco night for us tonight.
My best parts were how easy it was to prepare and the taste!
Would I buy it again? I think I would be more inclined to buy the flavour sachet and salsa and put them with corn chips (does Old El Paso make any?) as my boys (3 & 4) found them hard to eat. I would recommend them to people.
I think the reasons above are why I usually bypass them, but the flavour on the chicken was fabulous and I will definately be buying that again, and not just for tea but to go in wraps for lunch and other meals too yummo!
I have eaten tacos in Mexico and these are MUCH better :) Thankyou for the opportunity to review them.

Saturday night was so much fun,we had so much fun with creating our own individual meals that it didn't matter who had what. Going by the box I got some chicken and cooked that off, yummy. We did bowls of cheese, tomato, sour cream and coleslaw. The best part was everything, it was so easy to do and easy to make. I've already put this back on my shopping list, we can't wait to have it again. With the 3 of us at home and 10 in the pack, we ate them all we couldn't stop, mind you we didn't fill them too much. What was left over my son broke up and munched on them later on in in the night. Old El Paso you have now joined my shopping list!!!

Hola!
So tonight was the night. And before I add my two cents worth I'll answer the questions provided by Old El Paso.
1 What was the best part.?
flavour was lovely and mild for the kids (and me, I'm a wuss)
2 Would you buy the products again/recommend?
Yes if it wasn't stand & stuff
3 N/A

So my review aside from that is
PROS
not too spicy, great for kids
very tasty
easy & quick to prepare
healthy
fun!
CONS
Messy - tacos usually are but I think the stand & stuff add an extra dimension of messiness once you bit in
10 in a pack. If our kids were any bigger I think a 12 pack would have been better

OVERALL 7.5/10

Thanks for the opportunity Old El Paso

Yum! Just finished eating our Fiesta Taco kit and they were a hit with all of us, including the fussiest 6 year old ever who freaks at the hint of anything that may have the remotest hint of spice. We actually just had them with grated carrot, cheese and sour cream as I didn't have anything else to put in them but I can see us eating them at least once a week over Summer with a nice crisp salad. And filling too! 2 was certainly enough for me and Mr 6. Mr 3 just had one, hubby had 2 as well and guess what he's taking for lunch tomorrow ;)

We tried the Healthy Fiesta Taco Kit meal a couple nights after receiving it in the mail. It was the messiest meal we’ve eaten in a long time, LOL! Our three year old loved being able to fill his taco with the fillings he wanted, and the best part was watching him eating so many healthy things without even realising – tomato, lettuce, carrot, avocado, etc. He was just having fun! They were very quick and easy to prepare, and the flat bases definitely made it easier to fill them. We used mince rather than chicken, and added the seasoning provided but to be honest couldn’t really taste it, so it’s definitely quite mild. The sauce was yummy, but because we only used half to three quarters of the tacos in the box, it would have been good if it came in two smaller sachets rather than one large one, so that the leftover didn’t go to waste. I’d be happy to recommend Old El Paso tacos to friends and family, but personally I would probably only buy the taco boxes, not the kit boxes (which include the sauce and seasoning) because I don’t think they added that much more to the meal. Overall we really enjoyed this product J

We had ours last night and the kids loved them and didn't even notice they were the healthier version :) WIth a toddler preteen and a 6 year old in the house it is hard to find things that they all will eat but everyone ate them with no problem and our six year old even said "this is great cooking mum well done" LOL. We loved the stand and stuff shells as it means the bigger kids can make their own without as much mess and they don't spill all the contents out before you eat them. My family gave them a 5 out of 5 (one vote per person) and we will definately be getting them again :)

Had mine last night and they are THE yummiest food I've had in ages!!! Definitely buying some more this week. Only issue is that there wasn't enough sauce!! I made a guacamole for mine too so had lettuce, chicken, cheese, carrot and guacamole. Amazing.

I have been a burrito girl for life haha but I am NOW a taco girl. They were so good, I even had a leftover one for lunch... Mmmm.

We tried out our tacos on Saturday night. I made up a mince filling, still using the seasoning sachet, along with extras of grated cheese, sour cream, capsicum, tomatoes and avocado. The kids loved filling them up, but had a bit of trouble eating them (they broke in half when they bit into them).. The flavouring was nice and mild for the kids and the grown ups loved the taco sauce. We would but the tacos again for the grown ups, but the kids still prefer the burritos as they are easier to eat.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Healthy Fiesta Taco kit. It was tasty and lots of fun. I think that was a key factor for us - it's hard to find the time to sit down and have a relaxed fun meal together. I cut up all the salad stuff and popped it in the middle of the table and we all created our taco sensations and had lots of laughs along the way. They were a healthy, fresh and tasty dinner and we'll definitely be buying these on a regular basis. Would like to try the burritos with the kids next! Thanks so much!!

Really enjoyable meal, we will certainly be buying again :)

Thank you for our pack. Very easy and simple to assemble. there are 10 tacos in the box and i thought it wouldnt be enough for all of us but it was really filling. Miss 3 loved filling them up with the salad and sauces ( we used the taco salsa and sour cream) Homestays loved loved them, especially the filling with as much as possible I wasnt keen on the chicken coating. it was rather tasteless but i think that is personal taste because the box was devoured pretty quick. They are very filling and a fast easy dinner. I would definatly buy again because the taco shell is lovely and tasty but would add chillis anmf garlic to it to give it a little more taste. Great as a party food for the littles :)

Reduced salt is great. My husband popped the tacos in the oven to soften them up a bit and it was game on. Will definitely be purchasing again :)

I found the Old El Paso Healthy Fiesta Taco Kit to be a winner as a meal for dinner in our house. I received the kit on Friday and decided to use it that night as I had mince out already. It was such an easy meal to put together, just chopped up some tomatoes and lettuce , grated cheese, cooked the mince up with the seasoning add the taco sauce and done! The kids absolutely loved having taco's and my daughter keeps asking for her now 'favourite' dinner of taco's. I like that they are a healthy dinner option.I will definitely be buying these again and also trying them with chicken or beef, adding some chilli beans - lots of options would work with these Healthy Fiesta Taco's , so a great choice and I would recommend to anyone :)

We tried ours on Thursday night. I found it very easy to put together. I had some chicken thighs in the freezer, so I chopped them up and used them. The great thing was not haivng to worry about not having all of the ingredients on the pack you could pretty much put anything in with it.
The kids LOVED the taco shells but weren't overly fond of the chicken or sauce. They found the chicken too spicy.
My husband and I found them tasty.
I probably won't buy these again in the future as the kids weren't overly fond of them but I will suggest them to my friends - as a quick easy family meal.
Thanks for the opportunity to try these :)

Our Old El Paso Healthy Fiesta Taco Kit arrived when I already had some venison mince out for tea - so I decided to take a punt and use venison mince instead of chicken.

We were not disappointed - they were so tasty, very fresh and something new that the kids had not tried before.

The main thing that I liked about them is that you can mix and match and add whatever ingredients that you like into them, which makes them an easy meal to prepare for the kids. And I can imagine that you can use most meats too, be it bacon, steak, mince, chicken, fish or anything really.

We had lettuce, cheese, mince, tomato, corn, carrots and capsicum as well as the sauce and marinating mix.

They were very easy to prepare as all they required was a little bit of heating and then once the mixture was cooked it was ready.

I will be buying more as they were a hit with both kids. Thanks for the chance to trial these

We had our healthy fiesta tacos last night as we wanted to watch the match and I thought it would be a good test to eat them while watching tv!
First, they are very easy to prepare, and I was pleased to see that the ingredients you need are basics from the pantry or fridge, so you don't need to go again to the supermarket to buy all sorts of fancy ingredients. I loved the smell of the Mexican marinating mix and the taco sauce is not too spicy at all. We prefer to have crunchy tacos, so I didn't leave for too long in the oven, and it was fun to fill them with the other ingredients.
We ate them while watching the rugby, and it did get a bit messy, but that's part of the fun of having tacos so we loved it! The taste was amazing, I used to cook tacos (preparing spicy mix etc) quite often before having the baby and this was just as good and saves a lot of time. I've already bought another box to keep in the cupboard for a 'lazy' night, and we will also try the burrito kit soon. Thank you very much for the opportunity to trial this!

Yum! The fiesta kit arrived yesterday and we ate that for dinner last night, the kids loved it, we always buy tortillas because they're easier to eat but the tacos were surprisingly easy to eat as well and my kids all loved them. The spice was just right, not too spicy, all my children could handle it and they really enjoyed it. I'd have to say, the best part of the meal for my kids were the crunchy tacos, they wer like big nachos to my kids , soo fun to eat. I asked them if they would like to eat them again for dinner and the answer was yes. Thankyou Old El Paso and kidsopt for allowing us to trial you, now i know my kids would eat it again, something new on the menu that all my children enjoy is always a good thing : ).

We had our Healthy Fiesta Tacos tonight and they were very easy to prepare!!!! And also tasted great!! Not too spicy and enjoyed by the whole family (including our 10 month old, although she only had the chicken, avocado and cheese!!! But she loved the chicken with the seasoning!!). The seasoned chicken was also the grownups favourite part. Was initially a bit worried as I didn't really like the smell of the seasoning before I mixed it in but it tasted great!!! Also liked the suggestion of adding a chopped up chilli if you wanted more spice - we didn't do this as I don't but was a good idea! Definitely needed to leave the Tacos for a while to soften up a bit as the first ones we had were still hard and just crumbled and made a bit of a mess!!!! That is also what has stopped me buying them before - I didn't want to get them home and find out they had got squashed on the way home and all I had was taco chips not shells!!!
I wouldn't buy the Tacos again but I loved the rest of the ingredients so will be looking out for the same ingredients but with either soft taco shells or burritos. Would then see our 10 month old eating most of the meal too!!! Loved the chicken too - a nice change from mince too!!
Thank you El Paso and Kidspot for letting us trial this!!

Crunchy, tasty, not to spicy and yummy were just a few words my kids used to desribe their Healthy fiesta taco's. They were also very quick and easy to make and it made a nice change to have chicken instead of mince. It was great to be able to make the taco's for the kids individual tastes (luckily my kids like most vege's). The seasoning was perfect, as my kids are used to spicy food but I would of added a touch of yoghurt or lite sour cream if they had been too spicy. I have never had chicken in a taco kit before and I would buy it again. I will also be recommending them to friends.
Thanks Old El Paso and kidspot for letting us trial this product.

Yay! Ours arrived today too. Miss 5 noticed them as soon as she got home from school and wanted to eat them right from the packet lol :D Made them up for dinner and the adults loved them! They were a bit spicy for our kids though. Might try making them with only half of the seasoning next time and see if that makes a difference. Thanks! :D

Yum! Mine arrived today, and I was so tired, so yah for not having to think about what's for dinner. I made it straight from the packet, just did everything they said. It was easy to prepare. Easier than I thought when I looked at the long list of things to add. And while I did love it, unfortunately the family werent that keen. (The kids didnt like most of the veges and after they tipped out their tacos, I bribed them into eating the veges saying they could have the shell when they finished the rest! And my husband apparently doesnt like the cruchy tacos only soft ones!) I dont think I would buy it again, but only really because I dont feel like the dinner kit adds enough to it.
Usually I will buy just the tacos (which ever brand I am getting best value for money, because I cant taste a difference in the shells, this one included, and I dont feel like the improved health in this compared to my usual shell is THAT significant) Anyway, I just buy the shells and then I make my own seasoning, sometimes if I cant be bothered I will use a seasoning sachet. I have also decided that I prefer mince rather than chicken. And I dont think we needed the taco sauce sachet, Me and my husband used as much as we could, because it was there.
But I think I will still be sticking to the Enchiladas and Crispy Chicken when I buy kits and just buy the supplies seperately for my other meals. I dont know if I am a fan of the corn either.
Dont get me wrong it was still yum, I am just trying to be critcal!
What I really want to know though is where can I get the enchilada tortillas that come in the kit but not seperately!! :(

Our kit arrived today, so we had them for dinner too! I loved them. It was a very quick and easy dish to make. The seasoning for the chicken was a perfect blend - not too spicy or over powering. My 3 yr old daughter gave them a good go, but in the end preferred to pick the stuff out of the Taco shell, and she said she thought the chicken was a bit "hot" (Spicy). I had not purchased these before as I did not know whether my daughter would be keen on them, and this answered the question. I have however gone and purchased the Healthy Fiesta Buritto kit, which I know my daughter will eat. I would definitely reccomend these kits to friends and family as they are very good :-) Thanks again for selecting us.

Wonderful, would recommend these as a very quick, very easy to prepare light meal especially with summer coming up. Everyone in the family loved these and I have been asked already to make them again, in fact I think that the next three days menus have been changed by the kids (they take turns to help pick something each once a week). The other bonus is that they are healthy and if they help the kids eat salad then I am all for it.

Yummmmmmm. These really were delicious!! They were easy to cook and you could prepare the ingredients beforehand if you needed to. I added a bit of oil to the pan when I cooked the chicken as the cooking spray just didnt seem to do the trick. I have never had tacos with chicken in them before and they were really nice. I liked the fact that they had the heart foundation tick and that is definitely something that would entice me to buy them. Thanks for the opportunity to trial this product :-)

Guess what we just had for dinner?!?! - YUM!! It was a definite consensus in our household that this is not a first date type of meal!! Hubby said that he didn't think I would have married him if we had of have this on our first date. We did decide however that it is a great family dinner as we listened to our 18 month old mimic the slurping sounds my husband was making as he happily crunched away on his taco shell. I think all Tacos break up the second you bite into them (of course), but these weren't actually too bad if you didn't over fill them - the main part held its shape and the filling mostly. Although it was a bit messy it was really very yummy. I think they needed a bit of sour cream as well as the salsa (but I do love sour cream!). The salsa was nice as was the seasoning for the chicken and neither was too spicy for the little one to eat. Overall very yummy!! I best part about the meal kit aside from being really quick to prepare was the fun family meal factor. I think I would recommend and buy the product again. Price is usually a factor that has stopped me buying them, but I will look out for them on special for a quick and fun meal. Thanks for the opportunity to trial!

Keen as to trial this. I had Mexican at a food court last week, (called Chilli, or something similar) as i'm a real mexican food fan but and it was such a disappointment. I had the california bowl. It was small, not that fresh and not even that spicy. My daughter had her very first taco and it was also a bit of a disaster! She liked the taco itself but the contents was a bit sad. Would love to reintroduce her to mexican food and this time make it myself, with a small amount of help from old El Paso, so i know it will be a good experience. Currently we don't have mexican that often, but My kids are just getting old enought to start having mexican more. Old El Paso would definately make us eat it more often. can't wait to trial this and increase my repertoire.

We rarely have mexican as my 4yo isn't too keen on "spicy" but we recently went to a mexican restaurant using a Grabone voucher, I thought it would be neat to expose her taste buds to something different and she ordered nachos which were the least spicy item and pigged out :-) She also loves making her own wraps/kebabs and gets really excited about any meals that she can either make herself or help make so I think introducing something like this for her to try out would be fantastic and maybe help to sneak in some food items that may only get in through disguise! I think if we had mexican often we would make burritos or tacos, just not sure if she would like something crunchy or not where the filling isn't very contained, wouldn't know until we tried. Regards, Michelle

Cheers

My husband and I are starting a weight loss program, so Healthy fiesta sounds like it would fit right in with that...tasty, but still low in fat! Would love to try the kids on tacos.

We have always LOVED Mexican in our home. My three year old fluctuates from "mmm, thank you for making such a delicious dinner" to eating only a spoonful or two. The one year old is pretty keen on Mexican most of the time. And it's one of my husband and I's favourite foods. We'd love to try the kit as we haven't tried tacos with our two. We generally have Mexican once every week or fortnight, would do so more if tacos worked well for our two littlies.

I have changed my eating habits over the last 4 months and would have it more often if the basics (eg tortillas) were lower in fat and if it was something that appealed more to the kids (they love using the tortilas for wraps because I can put anything in them)

MY kids and husband love mexican, its such a lovely balance having some fresh veges in with the meat protein and small amounts of carbs in an easy to prepare dish. We love adding chilli beans for an extra kick, and alternating for baked beans as an extra protein kick.
We eat it as much as possible while key ingreidients are in season, and try to during off season, but would love extra tips on non vege versions for those months where its too costly to buy tomatoes and lettuce (esp when our garden ones haven't grown)

Pick me! Pick me! We LOVE mexican food! Tortilla's don't last long in our house. Whether it's a quick quesadilla, nachos, or a taco we would eat mexican food every day if we could. But, due to budget restrictions I am limited to waiting until tortillas are on special. Then I buy 3 or 4 packs cause I know they will disappear quickly from the pantry.

We would eat mexican food more often if it were cheaper. As the other mums have said with salad ingredients being cheaper during summer we will probably start having mexican food more often. Bring on summer! :D
jobrush - 4:36 PM on Fri-9-Sep-2011 reply | message
Before kids we used to have Mexican at least fortnightly, but have found our kids to be a bit more reluctant. They will now eat nachos, but without beans, and tacos although its very much a case of tailoring the fillings to the kids. I love the idea of the healthy fiestas as my eldest loves his chicken seared rather than crispy, and when I tried the crispy chicken ones he wasn't so fussed. Tacos are such a fabulous Spring/Summer option!
I do find the ingredients to cook mexican can be on the expensive side, so affordable packs make it easier to consider.

We have Mexican about once a month. I have 3 sons who enjoy making their own tacos. It is a great way to get the kids to eat lettuce and tomatoes....they seem to love them if they make the meal themselves.
I think I would make Mexican more often if it wasn't so expensive buying all the fresh components (chicken/mince, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, avocado etc) along with the kit.

I cook Mexican once every couple of weeks, we love crunchy chicken wraps and do the occasional burritos / nachos.

I'm honestly not sure what would make me cook more Mexican. I love going to Mexican restaurants (not that that happens much anymore with 2 young kids) and love the cuisine in general but just don't seem to have the motivation to put it all together at home. I have great thoughts to make it , but always seem to forget one part of the ingredients so whatever I'm doing seems to end up slightly different to the recipe. :)

I'm still trying to lose the weight I put on with the kids so Healthy Fiesta sounds great. I'd love to give it a try!

We love mexican food in our house and have the El Paso Enchaladas very often...maybe most weeks. I often have to reaarange the meal plan when I realise that we are about to head into Nachos followed by Burittos followed by Enchiladas followed by Tacos! The only thing stopping us from having more mexican food is that lack of days in the week and the need for me to have a bit of variety sometimes. All the mexican meals we eat currently are great ones for when there is a babysitter because we know the kids will eat it! One thing we havent tried though is the healthy feista taco kits, so I would really be keen to give that a try.

We would definitely have Mexican more often if the boys ate it, we don't do seperate meals for them and us due to time constraints, so once we find something they like that's it we're consumers for life!

My husband's favourite meal is chicken enchiladas - so I cook that about once a month, and we have tacos maybe once every 2 months. The whole family does love Mexican food but I just never seem to remember to buy all the bits and pieces at the supermarket - so would absolutely love the ease and convenience of these kits.

I do not cook Mexican often. but if i do I always choose the best product and that is Old El Paso. I would have Mexican often if I use the right and the best ingredient sand that is Old El Paso. I think it is the best. My daughter would love to try new food to taste, so to get chosen to try this product would be awesome. thanks.

My kids are nuts about Nachos. So we eat mexican at least once a week. We access to home-kill beef so there's a lot of minced beef in the freezer. I mix it with canned beans to stretch it and we use the mix in burritos, nachos, on pizzas etc etc. I don't think I could cope with eating it more often but I'd love to try an El Paso pack with chicken for a change!!
hsmith - 12:18 PM on Wed-7-Sep-2011 reply | message
We have Mexican 1-2 times a month probably. The kids would be happy to have it more often. They love nachos and wraps, but of course the nacho chips are not that good for them even though the meat mix I make is healthy (hide plenty of kidney beans in it by mashing some of them). I like the look of the kits but have only had them occasionally due to cost. Would be good to try the healthy kit. I am trying to find more healthy ways of having Mexican.

We would love to be selected for this, we try to have multicultural food on a regular basis, I cook quite a bit of mexican and texmex as well as thai and indian foods (my mother was a firm believer in no spices including pepper, I wont do that to my kids as I think it is important to have a palate for many different flavours) and I am always up for the helty option, so we would definately love to trial this product, thanks

We have mexican about once a month. I like it because apart from being reasonably healthy (if you go easy on the sour cream), it is one of the few meals that I can talk my husband into making. I just have to get all the ingredients and put them on the bench and he usually offers to make dinner since its nice and simple. It is also a good way of making a little amount of meat go a bit further which is important with our current income. My biggest issue with it is remembering to get all the "bits" for it, last time I forgot to buy salsa and to be honest tomato sauce it great on most things but it doesn't work for burritos!

My family would like to participate in this trial. The kids are mad about nachos, I always use some Old El Paso spice packets (like for the burrito mix) to give the mince a spicy flavour. We all enjoy making our own wraps with tortillas, using allsorts of whats left in the pantry as fillers

I cook mexican about once a month - it makes for a tasty, fun and delicious meal. It's a bit trial and error in our house getting the spices right, so would love to have a go with a pack! I would probably do mexican more often if the packs were cheaper to buy. Doing it from scratch takes a lot of mental power from me and would grab a pack to cook up regularly if we weren't so tight on money.

We have Mexican about once a fortnight in the winter and weekly in the summer. We would have Mexican more often if my husband was confident to cook it. It would be great to trial the kit as I usually do Mexican from scratch and I think that may be what puts him off giving it a go. The kit sounds great, even the kids could get involved.

I absolutely love Old El Paso! I try and buy at least two everytime they are on special. It's a sure fire way of getting miss two to eat a lot of veggies which I am very happy about. I've been Meaning to get the new range but haven't got around to it. I'm like the others and would definitely eat it more if it was cheaper. We probably have it about once a week though in saying that. I just love having a meal that's easy and I know I don't have to stress about whether my daughter will eat it or not.

We cook 'mexican' at least once a month- the kids all love it as we make it as interactive for them as possible and they get to 'build' their own dinner. I would cook it more if EVERYTHING was in a pack together, or our local supermarket had a good special on everything you need :)

Hi we are avid Mexican food fans and my son loves it. Often if he is not too happy about dinner we put it in a tortilla wrap and he will pretty much eat anything. We regularly use the standard Old El Paso taco kits once a fortnight and would love to try the healthier version.
Thanks for the opportunity,

Kelly

I've never made mexican but do want to ! I would make it more often if I gave it a try and found it easy to do ....;) and the price was right ! I love the idea that they have a healthy range and would love to try this , especially for my kids ! They love a bit of variety and I am a bit of a slack cook - it's got to be easy for me to do it LOL , but they love trying different flavours and once my ultra picky 5 year old is persuaded to try something new , he usually wants to eat it heaps - that's what happened with Indian flavourings anyway .......With a 5 year old and a teen we can certainly give you a broad range with reviews :)

I have not tried cooking Mexican meals before and thus would love to trial this out. We have eaten Mexican food before and love it but I've just not gotten down to preparing it at home yet. What would make me cook Mexican food is when I have the chance to try it and see how simple it is to prepare it myself!

We eat Mexican once or twice every 3-4 weeks. I've just introduced it to my kids as a different approach to eating veges and it was a great success. Normally when it's on special do I buy a couple of packs. I'd like to start buying different varieties to try and would probably cook it regularly if it was more affordable.

We cook mexican 1-4 times a fortnight, usually it's the bog standard nachoes (mild for the kids, then add the spices for Hubby and I)! We would eat more mexican in summer when lettuce etc prices come down so that we can accompany it with mexican dishes :)

We are already fans of the Old El Paso range, but havnt tried the healthy fiesta tacos yet, we love the enchilada kit, we would cook them more often than once a month but the packs at $7.50 are a bit expensive unless caught on special and its a matter of having the fresh salad ingredients handy which is hard in the winter time
SandraG - 1:45 PM on Tue-6-Sep-2011 reply | message
Yum, yes please! I have often thought of trying making tacos, but somehow have never gotten around to buying any. The kids (Misses 2, 8 and 10) love mince dishes. Once in every six months or so, we have nachos, which the family love as long as they're not too spicy. I guess the reason we don't have Mexican more often is habit. I haven't gotten into the habit of buying the right ingredients. Living rurally, I have to plan ahead and have the right ingredients ready in the cupboard. We would love to try a taco pack!

We have Mexican about once every 2 weeks. I like to introduce my boys to a variety of foods (we don't usually have tacos), especially healthy ones and especially as their father is so fussy. I think for me to have mexican more often, I need it to fit within my grocery budget - salad type products are always cheaper in the summer months, so yah for that being on the way.

I have just discovered the other packets of Old El Paso and think they are great. We now have mexican two to three times a month, however, if we can get some healthy versions we'd love to have it more often. Being given the opportunity to try this packet would be fantastic. I tend not to purchase expensive products 'just for a try' as money is a bit tight. However, if I knew we liked them, then I'd be willing to splash out.

We would definitely eat mexican more if it was something my daughter liked to make as well. A kit is a great idea to inspire budding cooks (and jaded cooks like myself as well)!! Tacos are great too because it's easy for everybody to customise to their liking. Yum! I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!!

Awesome. We cook mexican at least once a fortnight. My family love enchillada's, nachos and taco's the best. This is a great way for my daughter to eat different food, as she doesn't like things being mixed together, nor does she like salad stuff. But with taco's and echillada's she copies what daddy and I do and eats a little bit at a time adding more and more foods to the mix at each bite. I would be so happy to try this and so would Miss 4 too.

We probably have Mexican at least once a month - normally Nacho's or Burittos. As miss 2 is now nearly 3, I am sure we will be eating it more and more. While the kids were younger we seemed to lay off it a little as they were quite picky with lettuce, tomatoes etc but we are now finding that they now both eat it in moderation and this looks like a great way to disguise them.

I would love to trial your taco kit. My husband and I love mexican but we're still trying to convert all of our children to eating it. We eat it about once a month but would definitely eat more of it if all of our kids enjoyed it as much as we do. I'd love to trial the Old El Paso taco kit on my kids because they are the toughest critics and pickiest eaters, if it succeeds in getting veges in ther bodies, and is a fast convenient way to get dinner on the table, all the while adding variety to our family meals I will be one very happy mum : ).

Nachos are also a regular, but haven't really done tacos too many times. When we have, I have just bought the taco shells, and have created our own flavoured mince instead of buying it as a kit. But now she is older and her allergies are much much better we are trailing more food with her. We would love to trail the healthy fiesta taco kit. To be honest this is something I have never really thought about cooking up for dinner as my kids are so fussy that I stopped trying to come up with original ideas and just stuck to the tried and trusted but I would love to give them a go now that everyone is just that little bit older and hopefully just that little bit more adventurous. These look like they would be great for lunch in the weekends or for dinner now the weather is getting warmer. I think letting the kids make up there own would be a great idea and that way they can pick and choose what to put in and hopefully that way everyone ends up happy.

I would love to try these. We eat Mexican (ie tortillas and tacos) about once a week. They are such a quick, easy and realitvely healthy meal. I would eat mexican meals more often if the tortillas didn't contain sugar and the tacos other unhealthy additives. I would love to see what the difference is in the taste etc of the healthy option.

We have nachos/tacos/burritos once a week.. (although I could eat it every night)!... So yummy with all those veges and meats! Would love to try the new range as we have decided to cut back on nachos and tacos in order to shed a few sneaky winter kgs in time for summer. I'd definitely buy it more if I knew I didn't have to worry so much about the extra calories.

Oooh what a great trial! In our house we cook mexican probably a couple of times a month, and our favourite is usually tacos or burritos. It's such a great way to get the kids to eat more vegies and salads! We would probably cook it more often, especially in Winter, if the price of the fresh ingredients was more affordable. We would love to try the Healthy Fiesta Taco Kits!!

Our family love Mexican but does not have it that regulaly, but I'm not really sure why. I think it's a nice meal to have together cause it encourages dinner at the table to assemble you meal instead on on the laps in front of the telly which is where hubby and I usually are! I really like the sounds of the healither option. Maybe that would make me eat Mexican more often if it still tasted good too.

I LOVE mexican food, i probably cook it about once every 2-3 weeks over winter but at least once a week over summer when the salad stuff and avo's are better priced! we do make them with various veges over winter but i much prefer it with the salad. Old El Paso is a staple in our house.
If i was allowed and had cheap salad stuff year round i would eat it every night :)

We usually cook nachos once in a while but I would love to trial this to expands the kids food choice (mexican is more then nachos. LOL) The bonus would be if they were healthy then they could be added to the menu more often. The kit sounds like it would be quick to prepare too which is always handy in these busy times.

Hiya! We would be grateful to try this. We cook Mexican once in a blue moon to be honest but do find it enjoyable and quite easy when we do.
We would cook more if it was more healthier which is why this new healthy fiesta range is a great idea. I think with Mexican you can get the kids involved as well by allowing them to fill their own taco, burrito's or tortillas!

Wow a healthier Taco sounds great! We love nachos at our place and find it quite easy to do both a vegetarian and meat option as we need both at our house. Also do burritos quite alot, I love meals that include lots of salads and veges so mexican is great!
Havn't tried enchiladas yet and have had tacos a bit although were a bit hard early on for our 21/2 year old, could probably try them again especially with a healthier option that has everything included, never quite sure if I'm doing it properly....
I would cook it more I guess if it was easy and quick, I guess a kit would be perfect for that as has instructions and all the bits and pieces

We have burritos every other week, as my son loves them! Or I use burrito seasoning in mince and use the mince in various ways. Or we use tortilla wraps as pizza bases. Other than that, I don't cook Mexican as it seems too big a job for me! It would be nice to get a ready spice mix/ paste in a jar that you could just add meat/veges to and get a dish ready in minutes! Been wanting to try these standing tacos since I saw the ad on TV so would be thrilled if I was chosen as a reviewer! :)

I know its cheating but there is this fantastic Mexican takeaway place that has just opened in NP and we love to go there - I should make more at home but getting closer to giving birth so becoming a little slack in the kitchen. Would love to trial one of these packs to remind me how easy Mexican is so can cook more often.

We are lucky, we have mexican once a week, nacho's, burritos or tortillas usually go down a treat with the whole family!! I really enjoy making them with my boys, their help is priceless. I have to admit that the cost often puts me off during the winter, as the price of salad and tomato is beyond the budget, let alone the cheese , chicken and everything else. Roll on summer so Taco's can be more adfordable!! Have never tried the "Healthy Fiesta" range, so would love to trial them.

No real reason why we don't have it that often mostly because I find it difficult to cook mexican food from scratch. We would probably have it more often if we had products like this one as it would it so much easier as it's all there you just need to trow it together. :)

WE eat Mexican food about once a fortnight. We have to be careful what we eat as one of our children has allergies. However Most of the Old El Paso is perfect, we just dont add cheese :)... Our favorite would be the Chicken Fajitas and then burritos

We probably have Mexican once a week - however we go for cheaper brands and make our own sauces etc. Old El Paso's range however has much more authentic flavours etc. The price of lettuce, tomatoes, avocadoes etc also infuences how often we have it. We love it because everyone can make their own how they like.

Yum we love tacos in our family, have not tried the healthy ones before though! Its always a fun meal as each person can pick which salad they would like inside. We make mexican quite a lot in summer as nachos, wraps and fajitas are easy light meals to make. I would like to make it more but I just wouldn't know what to cook :)

My kids love Nachos - are they classed as Mexican? Otherwise we might do it once a month but would do it more often if it was something the kids could really enjoy and maybe even help make it.

We have Mexican probably once a month. Although we enjoy it we find it is quite pricey once you get all of the ingrediants. It is also doesnt seem that healthy. I would love to give the healthy pack a go and be involved in this trial - the fact that it has the heart foundation tick is definitely a big plus for me and my family.

We'd love to try this. We eat burritos, nachos and have done fajitas as well and I think Tacos would be a real hit with my 4 and 2 year old girls. They like making the dinner themselves, like putting the food in the burritos etc so this would be a very interactive family meal for them. We would cook Mexican more regularly if there were more non spicy options for kids.

My kids LOVE mince so we mostly have it Mexican style, probably around once a week/fortnight. I enjoy trying to make tasty healthy option versions of meals and also like convenience, so this kit could be perfect. If this is a hit I could be purchasing more of these so my kids can help cook too.

How often do you cook Mexican?
For dinner about once a week
Lunch we/I often have quesdillas, - probably like 2-3 times a week

What would make you have Mexican more often?
Inspiration..

We probably have Mexican about once a week, as our children are getting older we will start having it more though. Tacos can be really messy for very littlies! Would love to trail this.

We don't have mexican very often..but when we do its more in summer when the tomatoes & lettuce are in season (if they were cheap all year round then I probably would cook it more often). In saying that, I remember mum making us tacos alot and I loved them. My children enjoy mexican wraps, I really must cook it more often as it's quite healthy. Thanks for the opportunity to trial the Taco Kits, we'd love to get picked!

We don't have Mexican often, maybe once a month, but when we do we love it. I suppose price is a factor (especially when considering packs like this trial is for), although to be honest I haven't checked out the prices at the supermarket recently so I could be imagining they are more costly than the really are! So a cheaper perceived price would make me have Mexican more often & knowing that my DS would eat it!!
We would love to participate in this trial. I'd be interested to see if the Taco's are something my DS would enjoy eating these days. Thanks!

I love cooking Mexican - we have my homemade enchiladas most often; I buy burritos, then cook up a savoury mince and roll up in the wrap, then lay all the wraps next to eachother in a baking dish, pour over a tin of chunky pasta sauce and sprinkle with grated cheese. YUM!!
Would love to try this :)

I would love to try these out - i am always looking for ways to make yummy food for the family - we have mexcain at least once a week - a new fav in this house is burritos i think its cause the kids can fill them and wrap them with what they want! These tacos look really good - and with 5 kids you would get a wide range of reveiws!
