Hi everyone, sorry for lateness of review, I received my passion fruit & lemon filling just before we went to a long holiday. Came back and I finally found the time to try it. Wow ! It was so much nicer than I was expecting. I made little tarts with it but I tried 2 different ways as there was a suggesting about different textures at the back of the package. For the first 12 little tarts I didn't add any Greek yogurt or whisked cream into the filling, just straight from the package onto the tarts! so yummy! my friends and us loved it. The taste is quite strong, passionfruit and lemon's perfect combination has full of flavour. I clipped the package and saved the rest of the filling in fridge. The packaging is really good, easy to use, fill the little tarts with no mess, easy to save the rest. After couple of days, I mixed the filling with some Greek yogurt to use another 12 little tarts. this time the texture was more creamy, softer. When I was filling the tarts, I thought the filling is going to lose it's real flavour because I was adding yogurt into it. Even the amount of yogurt was more than the original filling, the taste was still strong, yummy and delicious! I was amazed.. we all loved to eat them again. I really liked it as straight from package or with yogurt, it's up to your texture choice really. both time the taste was perfect! Thank you for Barker's for this beautiful product and Kidspot to give us a chance to try it. I'm definitely Barker's patisserie filling's current customer now

I received the boysenberry filling and after alot of mind changing I ended up deciding on making the brownie from the recipe booklet that was provided inside. It was a hit, my kids and hubby loved it, so did I! Have already recommended it to friends and family and will definately be buying some more (and other flavours) in the future, thanks Kidspot Daily for the chance to sample and review this product!

I have finally gotten around to using the Passionfruit and Lemon filling. I made little tarts and they are too yummy for words, They all got gobble up so quick that I think I will have to go out and buy some more. Might try a different flavour this time. So easy to use, instead of having to make my own filling. This will be used many times in our household.

I finally have had a chance to use the Lemon & passion fruit flavour YUM!!!!!
What makes this even better is that it's Gluten Free, which has become a very new change of diet in our household, so it has made me that extra bit excited to use it.
I made four small tarts with a GF sweet short crust pastry and then added 300gm of unsweetened yoghurt to the patisserie filling YUM. The two boys (men) who munched on it even complimented it and said it was nice and went fairly well with their beers haha
What a quick & easy think to whip up, and it doesn't tasted like a processed product like some quick mix sachets can be.
When I looked at the price of these babies at the supermarket I nearly choked, but then when I compared what I could do with it, it worked out cheaper than a packaged brought dessert anyway
9.5/ 10 From me :-)
Will post a photo if i can work it out

Sorry for lateness of review I'd hoped to use before Christmas but as it happened I had the perfect place & time to share on Boxing Day and OMG it was fantastic!!!!!!!!!! Perfect packaging for travelling in the car on holiday & far less hassle too :-)

I made a semi baked cheesecake and instead of mucking around making my own topping using frozen boysenberries then having to wait for it to thicken & cool etc I was able to snip & pipe this awesome delicious boysenberry topping - it was the perfect consistancy! Thank you so much for opportunity to trial there are so many ways you could use this great new product - I'm sold & would definitely recommend

wow better late than never! Thought I had written about my experience with this yummy cream but I hadn't! We received the lemon passion fruit and the first hurdle was deciding what to try it with! The recipes that were included in the package were all great and so I went with the very luscious looking Meringue cheesecake one and well quite honestly it was divine! Very rich and I was a bit greedy but none the less divine! Easy to make and full of flavor I would definitely buy this product again (if only it was stocked in Kaitaia supermarket.......there is always hope!)

Hi, I received the boysenberry flavour and have finally had a chance to do some baking. I made the brownie from the recipe suggestions. Really easy to make and tasted delicious - just wish I hadn't let my husband take most of it work for his workmates. Still have about 1/3 left which I am saving to eat with ice cream and yoghurt :)

Hi everyone. I received the lemon passionfruit flavour to review. Although I love lemon desserts, I am not normally a fan of passionfruit but this has changed my mind! It is nice to see what you are getting in the box and I loved the recipe suggestions inside. I was also nicely suprised to see how much of the filling was included in the box. I made the lemon & Passionfruit Meringue cheesecake recipe in the box for our family of 4 and it only used half the filling. Loved that it was quick and easy to use and the end result was super yum! Everyone loved it. Next up will be the muffins I think although this is really good over icecream too. I am so pleased I got to try this - its something that I would not normally buy but after seeing how far a box will go and how easy it is to use, I will definately look out for it at the supermarket. Thanks for the chance to trial it!

Hi,
I received the boysenberry flavour. So easy to use, I love danish style pastries and luckiiy had some ready rolled pastry in the freezer. So I very quickly cut up the pastry, spooned on boysenberry and custard popped them in the oven and had delicious and so easy pastries! Very yummy! So easy! Highly recommend. Thanks so much for the trial.

Hi all I received the Boysenberry flavour and I have to say really enjoyed it. So easy to use! My daughter had her three year old birthday party just after xmas and so made Boysenberry Muffins and also Boysenberry and Custard Muffins - they both tasted fantastic and received lots of comments (only from the adults - kids too busy eating).
Definitly recommend as so easy and so tasty to use. - Merry Xmas all and hope you all have a great 2012

ok, so I made boysenberry tartlets for christmas day, for people who don't like fruit mince pies. They went down really well. Infact they went before all the other desserts :). I spent about an hour telling family memebers about the trail and what everyone has been making, so think that everyone else is gona give these a go too.
Thanks heaps for the opportunity to try these!! I have had a blast creating new things. can't wait to trial the other flavours!

Finally got around to posting my review. I made tarts for Christmas Day using the lemon passionfruit filling and yummo! I brushed melted chocolate inside the tart cases and allowed it to harden before adding the filling. Dark choc goes very well with the sharpness of the filling.I will be hunting out the boysenberry filling to try over the holidays. Many thanks for the opportunity!

Last night we had our neighbours christmas drinks with dessert. I used the Lemon Passion Fruit filling in sweet pastry tarts and placed a fresh blueberry on each. They were a hit with everyone, even the kids. The filling is not too sweet and has a delightful flavour with just the right mix of lemon and passionfruit. Yummy! I will have to try the other flavours now.

I have been chosen to review the Lemon Passion fruit filling. This was lucky, because its definitely a flavour that would go down well with our family and friends. The box arrived a bit damaged in the post, but the presentation was pretty neat. I liked the packaging of the filling, because it was easy to snip one of the tips and pipe some filling out when using. I also liked that they suggested how to seal it again. I used a clothes peg and that worked well.

I was also impressed with the four recipes included in the box. These seemed easy enough to follow and gave me lots of other ideas of what to do with the product.

The lemon Passion fruit filling can be used as a filling or an icing as well. So I made two things - a lemon passion fruit cheesecake, and a chocolate cranberry slice with lemon passion fruit icing. Both tasted absolutely beautiful. I did find the flavour of the filling very sweet with a slight bitter after taste when tried straight from the bag - let's face it, who didn't! But mixed with the creamy cheesecake mixture, it was beautiful. The creamy taste cut the bitterness. It was nom nom nom!

I would definitely buy this product again. The pack goes a long way, and the product is really versatile. I still have heaps in the bag still and Christmas treats to create. Bring it on!

I was lucky to be chosen to review the Lemon Passionfruit filling. I have been saving it for Christmas day when my Mum and I will be putting it into tart cases and serving with ice cream for dessert, but had a craving to try some today! This afternoon my son and I made cupcakes with a spoon of the filling inside each one and towards the end of baking time we put a dollop of meringue on top to make Lemon Meringue Cupcakes! Absolutely delicious!! We are looking forward to the tarts on Christmas day. Merry Christmas everyone!

It was so easy to use an taste's super yum. Will buy again maybe on special thought as it is round $7 at pack an save. I took it to a 60th so round 10 people got to taste it an It everyone who had a piece loved the flavour of it. Thanks for letting us try it with the mess free pipping bag it made it easy.

I received the boysenberry filling. I made Chocolate muffins with a boysenberry gooey centre. Coming in its own piping bag made things so easy, put the muffin mix in the pans and then piped a small circle on top and they turned out fantastic. Will definitely be buying this, and will be trying the other flavours too :)

So, I used the boysenberry filling to make brioche for a Christmas party. Meant to take photos, but was so busy I forgot! I found the filling really easy to use, and a little went a long way. It was delicious. I added some bits of white chocolate, but would add more next time as the flavour didn't come through enough. A really easy and versatile product. My daughter has been given some heart shaped muffin moulds and is eager to use them, so I think we'll be making berry muffins with the left over filling ):

I made little danishes with the Lemon-Passionfruit filling and some store bought flaky pastry. The filling stayed put really well, I was expecting it to melt a bit and ooze out. We all loved the flavour and the smooth texture was gorgeouss. Personally I wasn't much of a fan of passionfruit seeds in it though. I'm keen to try the other two flavours, and if they're reasonably priced these might make there way into my pantry more often. Thanks for the chance to try these :)

I finally found time to use the Lemon & Passionfruit filling - it was delicious and very easy to use. But sweeter than expected, so would be perfect with some thick natural yoghurt or a type of pastry that's not too sweet. I made tartlets - wish I'd bought pre-made cases instead of making them, pastry is not my forte! But the filling looked great, and even better with a couple of strawberry slivers on top.....

I received the Lemon Passionfruit filling. I attempted to make a lemon and chocolate truffle but it didn't work as planned (the filling was too soft to dip into chocolate) which was my fault. But the failed one that did semi-work was delicious and I still have some left over filling so I might try to make the tartlets. But I would definitely use this filling again as the product is so yummy and so easy to use.

Sorry this is late but I tried the boysenberry last night and used it in the muffins, it was dee-lish!! I was surprised there was no sugar in the recipe and because I am a sweet tooth I decided to use the remaining boysenberry to make an icing to go on top and that was perfection to me : ). Without the icing it was still really good, especially with the gooey centre but the icing was the final touch that made me go back for more and more and more, my poor kids were lucky to get some in there lunch boxes today hehe.

We made some tarts with some mascapone and the lemon filling on top. So Scrummy! Everyone loved them at the party. They were so easy to make with the piping bag. I have just brought another pack so I can make the ice cream. Will try lots of other things in the future with more packs. Yum

Well I finally managed to find the time to make it! I have never made a pavlova roll before-actually I have only ever made one pavlova as I don't even like it!! But my fiance cannot get enough of pavs & he absolutely LOVED this.
Love the filling, so easy to use, no mess (well, except when it all squished out when I rolled the pav lol, but was easy to clean up) and tastes great! Like I said I don't like pav but I think I could eat a bit like this! So keen to try the other flavours & more recipes!
The instructions were clear & simple (I just need to work on my rolling technique & get a bigger sponge roll tin!) & I love that it comes with the great recipes in the pack.
I now have orders for more things made with the Patisserie Fillings so thank you for letting us review, you have won us & many friends & family over ;) I might become a decent baker yet haha. I see a day trip to Geraldine in store.
I will post a photo but it's not the prettiest! It was sooo delicious though :)

Had to wait until Miss 7 could help so has taken this long to attempt using our Lemon and Passionfruit! First was the taste test on the finger (would be rude not too!) and yum! Definate pass from both of us!
Then we used it as a filling to sandwich two meringues together and took along to our Brownies xmas party....was a hit, all but one of the girls liked them.
With the leftovers we decided to bake muffins and use the filling to both squirt some in the mixture and swirl the top with in last five minutes of cooking! Best muffins ever yum yum yum!

I was given the New Zealand Boysenberry Patisserie Filling with a ready to use piping bag. I made my own sweet pastry and put them in a non stick tin to bake for 8 minutes with 1tsp of rice to keep them from rising in the middle. My granddaughter pricked the bases with a fork and we both piped the filling into the cases. She and I licked out the remaining mixture which was so sweet and yummy. Took them along to some friends for them to try and all thought they were well made and just loved the taste. My friends want to give this a go so told them the other flavours to buy and I'm also keen to try another flavour. Will certainly recommend.

I made one of the suggested recipes for the boysenberry which was the Boysenberry Ripple Chocolate Brownies. It was absolutely delicious and everyone in the family loved it so will definitely be making it again. I also want to try the other flavours as well. Thanks for the trial - it was yummy!

Yum! We got lemon and passionfruit and for an effortless dessert, folded half the patisserie filling through some whipped cream and piped it into brandy snaps. Served dusted with icing sugar with fresh strawberries on the side - it was divine! Loved how tart and fresh the patisserie filling was, but thought it would have been too thick and strongly flavoured to use on its own - in a baking mix or mixed with yogurt or cream though - perfect ;)

I have used the 2nd half of my boysenberry filling as a swirly topping on my own brownie recipe, OMG a complete different level to the normally brilliant brownie hit. Needless to say I already have 1 box of each flavour in my cupboard! they will be the decadent additions to my xmas pudding menu, chocolate mousse and lemon and passionfruit merange tarts are already on the confirmed menu :)
will definately be recommending these to everyone i see :)

late review here too sorry. i used this in the chocolate brownie recipe it came with instead of the cupcakes i was originally going to make and not only did i love it but everyone else who tried it, loved it too!! thank you for the opportunity to try this yummy stuff :) will definitely have to start buying it!!

Sorry for the late review, havn't been too well recently. Used half of the mixture so far, in cupcakes. I made up a vanilla cupcake batter, and placed about a teaspoon of boysenberry filling into the centre of each, swirling it around with a toothpick before cooking. yum. For the icing, i mixed up a batch of cream cheese icing, and mixed about 1/4 cup of boysenberry filling into that, before piping the icing on. They look and taste amazing. in fact they were eaten twice as fast as usual. Will definately try this with the rest of the flavours!
As i still have half of the packet left, im thinking about making some fuit pies. As its Christmas time, these will be for those that don't life the traditional fruit mince ones :) Will let you know how I get on!

I have used my berry filling and love it. It is perfect for little tarts. All you do is buy the tarts, get the filling, squirt into tarts and top with custard or cream with a slice of strawberry. This is a wonderful product and i am certainly going keep on hand when needed. Thank you very much for letting me trial.

I received the lemon and passionfruit. I made tarts which were very delicious and so easy (I usually make my own lemon filling). I also made the rest into icecream using a slight variation of the recipe provided. The whole family loved it. The only party pooper was the 16 year old who didn't want seconds because of the passionfruit seeds! I actually thought there were very few and you didn't even notice them.

I received the Lemon passionfruit filling I was really impressed with the little recipe booklet included in the box and will definitely be trying some of those ideas! Yesterday I made some sweet short pastry, popped the cut out rounds in a muffin tray, snipped the tip of the Barkers Patissere bag, squeezed in the filling till tart was full and dropped a spoonful of meringue on top. 10 minutes later, 6 individual Lemon Meringue pies/tarts SO EASY!! it would be even easier if you had pre made tart cases. The filling was super smooth and creamy, not too sweet and just the right amount of tartness. The awesome thing too is my daughter just had Vanilla ice cream with a squeeze of the filling on top, super stylish icecream in an instant, no need to bake.I still have a third of it left so I'll be filling a Pav this weekend for our christmas party and I'll remember to take a photo this time!

OMG, soo easy. We are having an early xmas dinner for some of the family (it's complicated) and thought I'd try it out. Bought some ready made sweet pastry bases and filled the bottom with chocolate. then piped the boysenberry ontop. Some with custard, some with both. Then topped with a slice of strawberry and grape. Flash. I'm going to sprinkle some iceing sugar to serve and will try to take a photo. They look just like a bought one. Very impressed. Want to try the other flavours now. Thanks

This is my second review. I made the pavlova with boysenberry for visitors last night. My husband couldn't understand why I was taking a photo of a store bought pav until I explained that I had made it. Also made some little tartlets wit hthe leftover as I had defrosted too much pastry for dinner. Definately on my shopping list from now on. Very versatile and it went so far (2 dishes plus a bit extra), and it just makes things that bit more special. Thanks heaps for choosing us to trial it :)

We received the chocolate flavour and after having a vote of Kahlua cheesecake swirled with chocolate, chocolate and strawberry tarts or used as an icing for a gateaux the family chose to have the muffins featured in the recipe card. The muffins were extremely easy to make and looked exactly as the picture showed, what I enjoyed was that they were not too sweet although they looked like they would be. The recipe did not rise a great deal, however it did produce 12 large muffins....and the muffins tasted great served with strawberries on the side. I am going to buy these bakery fillings again, however I will not make the muffins again due to the cost of the fillings making it an expensive muffin filling but I will use them for special occasions or as a stand by in the pantry. ps...love the icing bag idea, no mess, no waste.

I received the chocolate filling, and I think it is a fab concept! I made the mousse, and filled mini pastry cases with it. I wasn't so keen on it on it's own...tasted like ice cream topping to me! But made into the mousse it was yummy! About 12 people had one of the pastrys and all said it was yummy...they loved the texture of the mousse. Would be great to try an few other ideas, and am going to try the boysenberry swired in a cheesecake. Thanks for the opurtunity to try it...prob would never have brought it if i'd have seen it, but I def will now! Its a great product, and a fantastic standby...you can make some fabulous desserts with only a few ingredients.

A week ago I received the chocolate flavor to review, it is very rich Last night I made the Pavlova roll which has been polished off with everyone commenting on how nice it was and how its was restaurant quality. I did not need to use that much of the chocolate filling and will try making it again on Christmas Day with the passion fruit flavor. I made pancakes this morning with a side of fresh strawberries and a blob of chocolate filling making them divine... Highly recommend this product to people as I still have some left over in the fridge to use on something else. The review from my son is YUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great advertisement for this product....Did you really make this!!! So I'll be definitely buying these fillings again & making it on xmas day & blow my sister in law right out of the water....she usually makes the best chocolate log but not this year!!! We also received the lemon passionfruit filling and it is delicious!!! I made the muffin recipe in the box (plain muffins with lemon passionfruit filling swirled thru and then added afterwards into the middle of the muffin) - they were beautiful and my 6 year old wanted more and more of them! So did I and I even kept a little of the filling in the bag so the kids and us could taste it by itself, yummy! My 4 year old put a little bit on his toast instead of jam!!!! I imagine the other flavours would be just as nice and keen to buy the chocolate one! Just really easy to use, to have in the cupboard for whipping something up quick and fancy xoxo would taste yum on icecream I bet!

We received the lemon passionfruit filling and it is a hit! Put Greek yoghurt on shortcrust pastry cases then piped the filling on top and finished with a strawberry. The whole family loved the taste and my husband commented that he liked the fact that the pips from the passionfruit were soft. Also piped it onto the top of gingerbread stars and that is also a great combination. The children are keen to try the icecream recipe that was inside the pack. A built-in nozzle would be handy but would add to the cost and is not very eco-friendly as it would just get thrown out when the filling was finished. We will definitely be buying this product. Thank you very much for the chance to test it.

I was lucky enough to receive the lemon/passionfruit filling for this trial and my goodness, it's just fabulous! Made little tarts over the weekend and they were eaten up very quickly. Was so easy to make something so scrummy, I'll definitely be adding these to my shopping list to have on hand, especially with Christmas just around the corner! Thanks team!!

This is fabulous! I made berry danishes as dessert for a bbq last weekend and it was a hit! This became a conversation topic and everyone was very impressed not only with the fact that I made danishes but how good they were and the piping bag is a fantastic idea! Definitely converted my friends in trying this out and I will certainly be buying more of these. They are so easy!! Thanks Barkers and Kidspot! You make me look so good!

I received the lemon-passionfruit filling, had to have a little taste test straight away, and then another, and another... Got some flaky pastry and I'll be making danishes on Sunday. We spooned some on ice cream last night and it was very tasty, will have to try blending it with vanilla ice cream and refreezing too at some point. I'll let you all know on Sunday how the danishes go.

OMG. SERIOUSLY GOOD! I made the cheesecake and swirled the lemon and passionfruit topping over it and it was absolute heaven. My husband asked what I did to make it taste so good and he was the first to say that we're buying this again! I'd like to try the other flavours in the range too and think they would be perfect for over Christmas and the holidays when you have unexpected guests and lots of entertaining. So easy and so delicious. I also LOVE that I can purchase online without having to go to the supermarket or the online supermarket which I can't stand doing lol. Perfect, quick, easy, and incredibly tasty - I will definitely be recommending to other friends and family.

I received the lemon and passionfruit filling. I made little lemon and passionfruit meringue tarlets. They were really easy. I based it on the recipe on the box, but made my own sweet short pastry then pipped in the filling, beat the egg whites, put the meringue on top and they were yum. I did feel however that the passionfruit flavour overpowered the lemon. My daughter (7) didn't like the filling at all but my son 10 loved it. I didn't take any photos unfortunately but they were definately well received.
I would love to try the chocolate especially in the muffin recipe. I liked the fact that all the recipes could use any of the fillings.

Very excited to arrive home after being away to find my parcel waiting. I've received the boysenberry filling. I'm planning to make boysenberry and white chocolate brioche. We have to take something to a Christmas party next week, so that's the current plan (unless I can't wait that long and make them earlier)! Thanks for choosing me to trial this product.

I received the passionfruit and lemon and made a cheesecake using a biscuit base. vs the meringues recommended in the recipes. That was well received- and used light cream cheese which made for a fruitier less heavy dessert. Also had a pancake with which I added some of the filling as well as some whipped cream- absolutely scrumptious! Will definitely add this to my shopping list!

I received the NZ booysenberry sample & made a swissroll, using the Barker's as a filling along with whipped cream. YUM! My baby brain thought it would be ok to make the swissroll without baking paper - incorrect! So it ended up not looking too smooth, but once it's rolled up, that kind of detail remain's a chef's secret... The easiest part of the recipe was piping on the Barker's: it was completely effortless & mess free. I have added the chocolate filling to my shopping list for this weekend. Thanks so much Kidspot for introducing me to Barkers!

Thank you so much Barkers and Kidspot for the opportunity to trial the lemon and passion fruit flavour. This was actually the one I would of picked.

I made the muffins and the were a real hit with the whole family, especially miss three. I especially loved that it wasn't over sweet like passion fruit flavoured products often are. The bag made it extremely easy to use, even my daughter had a go. It was great that it came with so many recipes.

I will definitely be buying this product myself and recommending it to all my friends and family. This will be the must have product to have in the pantry over the Christmas period with unexpected visitors and lots of get togethers. I can't wait to try the ice cream recipe.

I was so excited when I received my box of lemon and passionfruit filling to try. It arrived even before I got the email saying I'd been selected! Thanks Kidspot & Barkers.

I have to admit if I'd had a choice I would have probably picked the chocolate creme, but I'm not a desert snob - anything sweet is good in my books! As other people have mentioned, I think the recipe booklet is really well done, nice layout, with appealing, straight forward recipes.

I decided to try mini tarts first. Once I got the cases baked, it was so quick and easy to assemble - literally snip and squeeze! Everyone found the flavour a nice blend of sweet and tangy. I decided to try out a mousse with the rest. I modified a recipe I had for a lemon mousse, and used 1 egg white stiffly beaten, some whipped cream (approx 150-200ml) and added the filling to taste. It didn't take a lot and I got a beautiful, well flavoured mousse - and with just 3 ingredients!! So quick and easy. It took a lot of will power not to have the leftovers for breakfast this morning. Would be fantastic just stirred through whipped cream for the pav topping too.

The convenience of being able to use some, then peg it and pop in the fridge is great, and 14 days gives you plenty of time to do something else with any left overs.

Will definitely be buying some more to have on hand over the Christmas party season!

Thanks Kidspot & Barkers for such an innovative and tasty product. We got the Boysenberry flavour and the hardest thing to decide was what I was going to use it for.

The recipe card inserted inside the pack was a brilliant idea and I think it give you great ideas to try.

The only one bad thing that I would say is that it would be handy to include a nozzle in the bag - as not everybody has one around the house? Could I also suggest making a caramel flavour as that would be a sure hit in this house too.

I made the boysenberry gooey muffins, I did struggle to pipe the flavouring into the muffin, but the swirl look was rather effective and they are tasty (even if they didn't look that appetizing ) Only due to the dark colour of the fruit.

I have now purchased the lemon and the chocolate creme one to see what I can make with them as they are just a brilliant and quick idea - I think I will use them in pastry cases - as they would look and taste professional. So I really enjoyed testing this and as a result have bought more! Thanks!

Thank you so much for sending me the Boysenberry filling. I was so excited to be a part of this. I tried the brownie recipe which came in the box as it seemed quite easy and I don't often try new things. The kids had a ball making it and loved sqeezing the filling over the top. I made a small hole in the bag so they couldn't pour the whole lot in one patch. It was so easy and fuss free. The brownies were delicious and the boysenberry topping just gave it something extra and different. I love the fact that it comes with recipes and pictures. I will definitely be buying this product and trying the other fillings. Thank you !! ps : I even tried the left over filling on some toast for breakfast - yummy..

I received the lemon and passionfruit. I made mini butter sponge cakes and sandwiched the Barkers with a layer of whipped cream in the middle of the sponges. I took these to a friend's place where a group of us were meeting for drinks. Everyone loved the cakes and were surprised and pleased to hear that they could buy the filling. There were no cakes left to take home at the end of the night! I made extras so my family wouldn't miss out and they all loved them - kids included. I have also made a meringue tower, alternating the fillling and whipped cream between the meringues. Very yummy too. This product is extrememly easy to use and the results are very impressive. You can get it in a caterer's size pack from the factory shop (my mother-in-law has bought before). I love the sound of the cheesecake recipe in the box. I think that I would also like to try doing a lemon meringue pie type thing with the lemon passionfruit filling. I will have to buy the other flavours to try them too, they sound great. Thanks Barkers!

Muffins turned out amazing so scrummy!!
Love Love Love the Chocolate Crème Patisserie Filling, was so easy to use and tasted great!
Also think it is nice how Barkers puts a wee recipe booklet in each pack adds a extra little touch.
I have started to recommend it to every one I know and my Grandmother has purchased the Lemon and Passion-fruit flavor to use.
The left over filling we used on ice cream and was really good so I will definitely be buying the chocolate flavor again and will also try the boysenberry out as there have been some excellent feedback on that flavor from this discussion board (Might even make chocolate/boysenberry muffins)Yum!!

Thanks again Kidspot and Barkers over all a 10/10 on this review!!

So I made the Lemon & Passionfruit Tarts on the box and they were delicious!!! The tartlet casings from sweet pastry took a little longer to make than I anticipated so we were a tad late arriving at the BBQ. The Patisserie filling piping bags though were so quick and easy to use. Would definitely recommend!

We received the Lemon - Passionfruit flavour to trial and straight away I made mini lemon meringue pies, using pre-made pastry cases for convenience. I have uploaded a photo above. They turned out great and the mixture was fine even after being heated in the oven for 15 minutes while the meringue cooked. However, we did find the flavour a bit too intense for our liking - it has a very strong citrus taste. It was great in these mini pies but would be too strong for me to use in a bigger tart. I think it would be well suited to be swirled through whipped cream (for a pavlova) or through a cheesecake mix. Thanks Kidpost and Barkers for the opportunity to try this product.

I received the passion fruit and lemon filling which I was worried about as I don't like passion fruit. How ever I decided to soldier on and make a pavlova I swirled this into the mix and oh my gosh it was so good! Had it at a dinner party and everyone raved about it and I even enjoyed it even though I'm not a fan of passion fruit.

Wow, I'm really impressed with how tasty and easy to use these fillings are! We were given the Boysenberry filling so we made the Boysenberry Danishes and the Goey centred muffins, big and mini sized ones for lunch boxes :) Both turned out great, and were a big hit with the kids. The filling is absolutely yummy - sweet, yet not too sweet and a lovely consistency which turns out absolutely divine when baked! The piping bag is designed well, easy to hold, convenient and tidy to use, just snip off an end and it's ready. I would recommend buying this product and I'm definitely going to try out the chocolate filling soon. Thanks Barkers and Kidspot!

We also had pancakes for breakfast and the kids piped boysenberry filling then sprinkled chocolate chips before rolling up and eating...yum! I needed to make and extra dish to serve at my sons 2nd birthday party and I couldn't think of anything fast and easy, and then IT arrived!! I made the sweet pastry shells the day before and then on the morning of the party I piped the Lemon & Passionfriut mixture into them and popped them into the fridge. Seriously easy! Everyone commented on them asking if I made them.... well technically I did... didn't I? Overall a major success! I would absolutely buy this, just for the ease of it! (and the taste!) My daughters and I made the Lemon & Passionfruit Meringue Cheesecake recipe off the leaflet inside the pack. (Photo above). Great for kids helping as no cooking and lots of tasting! The flavour is really delicious!! I decided to make it in a dish instead of in dessert glasses. Next time I would find a cheesecake recipe to use this flavour in as I LOVE the rich, strong, fruity taste but found this recipe turned out like a soft sweet mousse. (I presume we did it right!) We had fun and enjoyed our pudding! Thank you!

Well all I have to say is YUM YUM YUM! We received the Barkers New Zealand Boysenberry much to Hubby's delight as he is not a lemon fan ( altho I am) So this morning I made pancakes and served it with the Boysenberry filling and natural yoghurt. It was Fabulous and so delicious! I was very impressed with the amount in the bag and how they had made it so it really can be a piping bag, easy even to fill a bowl without having to spoon it out of a jar and I used a peg on the end to seal it up. I was impressed with the recipes that also came in the box and that it is also Gluten Free - double YAY! So then today after lunch I had some pancakes left over so I cut them up to give to the kids in a bowl but decided to eat them myself and this time mixed it with natural yoghurt! Its also fantastic to add a zing to a banana and yoghurt smoothie :-) Thanks so much xx

I used my barkers chocolate creme last night It had a great variation in recipies that came with it which would be great for those who don't bake alot( not that you couldnt use it for anything ) I decided to try the tiramisu as I've never made it before. the instructions were very easy to follow and the piping bag made it a no mess experience it also tasted awesome straight out of the bag like real rich yummy chocolate. I decided to make it in a bowl rather then separate cups and it made a huge amount it was enough for the whole family plus more, my friends loved getting to be taste testers for the night. The tiramisu was Devine best I've had lol and only took me a good 10 minutes to whip up. Thank you to kidspot and barkers for the opportunity to try this out I give it a 10/10 in all areas and will be buying it again.

Thanks Barkers and Kidspot for the chance to try out and review Barkers Patisserie Fillings .I was lucky enough to be sent a Lemon & Passion fruit Patisserie Filling to try out and review and with the weather being warmer I decided to make a cheesecake and pipe the Lemon & Passion fruit Topping on which was fun ,I removed the piping bag from the box and sniped off one end of the bag, and squeezed all the filling towards the tip end and twirl the piping around in a circular motion working from the outer edge to the centre of the cheese cake. Now how easy is that? Looked at the piping bag and there is still heaps left so I have put on a plastic clip on the open tip end and clicked it so it is now airtight sealed and can be used on Tuesday when I'm going to make some Passion fruit & Lemon slices . Refrigerated this product can be safely kept for up to 14 days. Which is ideal for mums to use on other cake, slices, scones.pavlovas, ice creams, trifles, etc I give Barkers 10/10 and I am going to purchase another flavor to try out Boysenberry sounds good. I received my package late afternoon yesterday and thought it was one of the many xmas pressies I have bought online, I was thrilled to open it and see what it actually was as my email was sent probably within a couple of hours of it arriving! I received the lemon and passionfruit flavour which is probably the one I would've bought first if I was purchasing it!
I decided to try something not included in the packaging to see how it worked in a regular dish so this afternoon I made 'raspberry delights'. I wasn't sure how it would go being put in the oven as there was nothing on the box about heating it and none of the recipe's included (4) required heating or cooking it.
To my delight and that of my unexpected visitors it was delicious after heating and went down a treat. We decided that the flavour was just the right intensity not too strong but very tasty. It wasn't too sweet either which was something I was concerned about. The kids gobbled it up as well so it was obviously not too rich for them either.
I found the piping bag extremely easy to use and love that you can do little designs with it! I also think it's fantastic not having to use the whole lot in one go. You can open it and keep it in the fridge for 14days. This opens it up to being used for a multitude of different things.
All up I can't think of anything I didn't like about it so assuming it doesn't cost the earth I would definitely buy it and recommend it to people! Great product and so easy to use!!! Thanks kidspot for the opportunity to trial this!!!

Wohoo, about 1hour after I posted about getting my email the courier arrived with my box of boysenberry filling!!
I had 2 sheets of pastry in the freezer so we have used half of the filling to make apple and boysenberry danish pastries.
The packaging of ready to use piping bag is extremely easy to use and they were made in about 5 minutes! we then had to wait 20 minutes for them to cook :)
the filling is fingerlicking good by itself when it 'accidentally' runs over your finger instead of the pastry and would be really great to stir into yoghurts or pour over ice cream as well. Actually mixing it with icing sugar to make icing for cupcakes as described above would make a delishisly berry icing too!
I thought i over filled my danish while they were cooking but now they have cooled most dont look to bad.
Taste test = YUMMO!! infact better than the bought ones! the amount i put in ended up being perfect. beautiful round fruity flavour with an ever so slight berry tart. I will most definately be making these again, great for a fancy pot luck plate being so easy to make!! I will also definately be trying the other flavours, especially the chocolate one.
I will try the recipe for the chocolate brownie with rasperry swirl with the remaining probably this weekend.
Seriously multi functional product = Brilliance
THANKS KIDSPOT AND BARKERS

UPDATE POST-
Chocolate Crème- Barker's Patisserie Fillings

Gooey filled muffins are in the Oven cooking using the recipe from the Barkers free book.Such a easy recipe and it made alot of mixture I was able to fill 12 texas sized muffin cups. It said to blob the chocolate filling on top which I did but it didn't sink into the muffins (to make the middle chocolatey goodness) so I wonder if it will do that while cooking. Was very easy just to zip the bag and pipe out the filling and I had a wee taste on finger omgosh yum yum yum.So excited to try these muffins after tea.
Mr 6 years has already given away 4 off them to the next door neighbors and they are not even cooked yet....LOL

I used the Boysenberry filling to make one of the four recipes that came inside the pack (and there was even a fifth recipe on the pack itself; plenty to choose from!) I already had all the ingredients in the house for the Boysenberry Brownies, so that's what I went with.

Divine. Beautiful, and divine!

They came out pretty much like the picture, with lovely swirls of Boysenberry throughout the brownie; made me feel like a pro (and I am in no way a cooking pro). Served it up with icecream for myself, and yoghurt for my husband, with the sauce that was also made from the filling to go along with the brownie. We both really enjoyed it.

This is a fantastic, easy-to-use, clever addition to the cupboard for cooking. Really glad I received this and tried it. I definitely recommend it to other. Big thumbs up! :)

I think I'd try the piping straight into the little pastry case thingees (like the photo on the top of the group), that looks delicious! Sounds like this would be really yummy whipped into a smoothie. Or spread into the middle of a rich chocolate cake. Mmmmm. Oh bother, I think I just put on 5 kgs just thinking about this!! :)

What a great idea, I've never actually noticed barker's in the baking aisle of the supermarket but then again, I never looked for such a product. just last night I tried to make my own strawberry filling for my muffins, it tasted yum but came out too runny. I love fillings in my baked goods and would love to trial Barker's in my muffins or as a pie filling. Anything to make life a little easier and faster so I have more time with my kiddies sounds good to me! : )

Yummy . This would be really handy for the Christmas Pavlova or even the Ambrosia just to add a really nice twist to them. My father in law always has a homemade (by me) Pav for Christmas Lunch. Could also do mini tarts/ meringue pies as an added bonus this year, as both my daughters love lemon meringue pie. This year we are doing the whole family Christmas with both sides including all the nieces and nephews coming to our house so should be lots of fun and many many mouths to try these gorgeous fillings. Also with a staff Christmas party coming up soon would be really fantastic to try something new that is also quick and easy ands looks impressive.

This seems like the perfect thing that I can use to assemble with other premade stuff and not only make me feel good but also look good! Is this the solution to my guilt? I'll probably buy tart casings, or premade sponge cakes or supermarket pavs and top it with this. I know it sounds non innovative but this is reality in my life!

I don't have the time or confidence to try fancy things, so this product sounds amazing. THe flavours sound so good I would be willing to try lots of new things !!! I also love the fact that you can seal the bag and use the rest at a later stage. What a great idea !! Just perfect for baking with kids who get bored if the making takes too long.

These sounds so so yummy. Depending on what flavour I would do different things with them. I would use the chocolate to make a moose (sp?) or to mix into muffins or even spread between the layers of cake. The lemon & Passionfruit would have to go on a cheesecake or maybe use as a filling for a lemon meringue pie. My list could go on and on. would love to try.

Good on you Barkers....these look great! I would love to try one of the fruit flavours (lemon and passionfruit sounds devine) and have a recipe for a pavlova roll similar to that pictured above but mine is rolled in ground almonds instead of coconut. I would swirl the patisserie filling through some whipped cream and use that for the filling. The possibilities are endless, they would be great mixed with plain yoghurt. My fridge is stocked with Barkers curds, jams and chutneys so I have no doubt that this too is a delicious product.

Myself and my family would love to trial this product. We all love to bake, especially with easy to use quality products. I would use them in my pastry/cream square instead of jam - so it would be a more interesting flavour, especially the chocolate or passionfruit. I would look to use in muffins and sponge cakes also in meringue nests. I would also be adventurous and try some of their recipes on their website.

That roll with the toasted coconut looks devine. I would love the opportunity to sample one of these if they are egg free.
I make some wicked jam muffins (egg-free) that contain ground almond. I would use the boysenberry filling for in the centre. I could use the lemon/passionfruit one on top of a yoghurt & lemon cake. The chocolate one can go with anything but I'm having a try at making an egg-free pavalova so may use this on the pav with raspberries & strawberries.
Damn....... I'm hungry now and would like a cream bun, chocolate of course.

Hi, I'd love to try these. I used to be a good baker but just find that I don't have the time now, so end up multitasking and burning a part of what I'm making. This looks like a great way of making something great but not taking so much time. I'd love to try little lemon/passion tarts, cakes and meringue type thing and adding yummy bit to muffins/cupcakes.

Wow , with 3 enthusiastic bakers in my house ( though the 5 year old is more enthusiastic than capable ) the Barkers Patisserie Filling would definately be well received ! My kids love mufins so it would definately be used for that , maybe a filling in an Italian layer cake or a swiss roll ......I'm sure we can think of heaps more uses for it too , tarts , cheesecakes ......the list goes on :) . So between the old thing ( me ), the teenager ( my darling daughter ) and the 5 year old ( my son ) the filling would be well used and enthusiastically eaten !
antslave - 1:47 PM on Mon-14-Nov-2011 reply | message
These look amazingly simple to use and being Barkers I'm sure they'll be easy to pass off as my own - their products aleays do taste just like homemade. The fruity ones would be great swirled through plain yoghurt for a simple desssert, the chocolate great to fill profiteroles, and all be be lovely in homemade icecream. I'd love to try them out, then maybe I cab get my local supermarket to stock them.

These sound great - am always on a look out for shortcuts with baking and this sounds perfect. The lemon passionfruit would be great in little tarts with meringue piped on top.
I'd also like the boysenberry filling in a good old fashioned fruit pie, maybe with a little fresh apple or in the middle of brioche that I bake (put it in the middle add more dough on top then bake. I'd love the chocolate in a decadent special ocassion cake. A great idea and I'd love to try them. Love the idea of the piping bag too.

YUM! These sound amazing! I love this idea. I actually passed them in the supermarket and thought - hmm I must try some of that sometime (hopefully I will be selected to trial instead). I love baking and dabble in cake decorating however, sometimes with the pressures of being a mum I find it hard to make the fillings etc needed to make it "JINGLE BELL" as you put it (love the xmas'ness of that by the way) I think if I was lucky enough to trial this I would perhaps but them as a gooey yummy filling in muffins (some little surprise when you bite in) or perhaps, as choclate fillings for my xmas goodies this year, or over a cake or to glaze little custard tarts, or with fresh fruit platters, or in pastry cases, or as a twist on lemon merangue pies or ... Do you get the idea I have lots of ideas? I hope we get picked - YUM!

Wow these sound divine and there are so many ideas going through my head right now. I'm thinking:
Lemon and Passionfruit on top of fresh whipped cream on a crisp pavlova that is soft and chewy inside.
New Zealand Boysenberry swirled through greek yoghurt, marshmellows, fresh summer berries, chopped dark chocolate and whipped cream for a beautiful Ambrosia.
Chocolate Crème sandwiched between two layers of rich chocolate cake.
It all sounds delicious and just in time for all the Christmss BBQs and parties! I would love to try this out and share with the neighbours ;-)

Those fillings sound very good indeed.
With the Lemon and Passionfruit one I would make a simple 3 layer yellow cake with the filling in between and cover it with Iltalian Meringue. ( I have made a similar one already with 3 curds: lemon, orange and mandarin and it didn't last long).
With the New Zealand Boysenberry: I would make a chocolate brownie with swirls of the filling.
With the Chocolate Creme: I would make a simple chocolate pie with shortcrust pastry (homemade of course) and a dollop of vanilla cream.
Mmmm, I'm already salivating just thinking about all those :)

And of course, little tarts - lemon and passionfruit swirled with yoghurt; chocolate topped with pecan; or boysenberry with a crumble topping. PLEASE pick me!!!! I think I would do 2 ways, some muffins or biscuits and some tarts, the chocolate or boysenberry sounds delicious! I was thinking I could even make a Pavlova and spread this on top!! Drooling thinking about it! Thanks!

Oh yum. I would use these either for a get together with my friends or for my girls birthdays. I could also use to make my husband a special dessert. I would make wee tarts or a pavlova roll, as fillings inside muffins, the chocolate ones in profiteroles.

I write a food blog and love sharing my new creations on it. With Christmas and our families birthday season about to start I can see endless time saving uses...inside muffins, pavlova topping, tarts, bottom of creme brûlée...
