Sales & Lists.
Posted 12:13 PM on Wed-11-Jul-2012
A certain red shop has a toy sale on at the mo. A certain red shop who is very clever at the timing of said sales. Clever timing = school holidays. While this is a godsend for children waiting to spend their hard earned (or perhaps not) pocket money, for parents it is rather a pain in the backside.

Any bargains that I've spotted, I can't exactly squirrel away with The Legend in tow. He's very nosy! And I can't hide things for The Legend when Pocket is around, because being a typical four year old she's not exactly the best at keeping secrets - the excitement tends to get the better of her mouth!

I'm sure there will be other sales, there is always something on offer, wouldn't it be nice though if specials were every week for example Lego one week, Barbie the next, Thomas the week after that, and so by the time Christmas came, everyone already had bought what they wanted and there wasn't the horrid mad rush and pushy shovey, wait for an hour at the checkout backlog of stressed out parents. It never fails to make me giggle though when you see a big dashing man holding a pink stuffed pony under one arm and a pair of purple princess high heels complete with faux diamante tiara in a glitter encrusted box under the other.

Thanks to our still not getting around to attaching a 'no-junk-mail' sticker on our letterbox, with the help of that red shop's pamphlets Pocket and The Legend have already written their Christmas lists. It's July. And you know what that means - five months hard slog of listening to said wish lists being read out over and over, and hearing all about why certain toys are at the top of the list and why others have 43 'pleases' written in capital letters after them.

Perhaps I need to head to that red shop and buy one of those letterbox stickers before any more flyers come through - their lists are long enough!

Go JO!
