Oh Sew you don't!

When you don't own a sewing machine due to it being a health risk to anyone in the surrounding area, most prominently yourself, you dread the school notice popped up on the bench which reads "school spirit week next week". Argh! That only means one thing. Getting creative. And when you can't sew - that is creative with a capital C, bold, underscored, highlighted and made into italics!

It's not like I can just quickly take in one of my t-shirts or fashion a bit of scrap material into a tie. I really need to get my thinking cap on at times like these - or do I? Thankfully, being very aware, and spending a little too much time on Pinterest lately, I know that like Google, most times you type something into the search box, you will be awarded with exactly what you are looking for. Thank goodness this was the case when I, with fingers, toes and eyes crossed typed in 'no sew cape'. Bob's your uncle my dreams came true.

So, with a quick trip to the shops, one piece of black material of some description (yes I'm that bad, I don't even know what type I purchased), one piece of ribbon and a pair of 'geek' glasses paid for, The Legend is very happy that he will be attending 'hero' day on Wednesday dressed as Harry Potter. And I didn't even need to thread a needle.

My mum is my sewing machine, she thinks that everyone needs a sewing machine so gave us girls one each when we left home however mine has never been used and she's only too happy to do odd bits and peices for me, kind old mum!

LOL ekubo, I have an old fashioned thimble mostly because my language when sticking my finger/s with a needle repeatedly would make a pirate blush!!! ;-)
