The countdown to the countdown
Posted 12:41 PM on Tue-9-Oct-2012
I'm starting to think Christmas. I know, I know, how dare I, but hey, let's face it. It is going sneak up and slap us across the face sooner or later.

Already I'm seeing things being put on the shelves in shops. I know some people think this is crazy, but I do kind of 'get it'. The retailers need to stock up and get all their goods organised, and they need somewhere to put it - and so it ends up on the shelves crazily early. I guess if you were wanting to send overseas too it makes sense for them to have a few bits out on display for the early posters amongst us.

I have never been much of a stasher when it comes to pressies, but this year I have a couple of things put aside. One was an amazing score of a $270 Lego for $99. I couldn't believe my luck that day. It was a case of being in the right place at the right time that was for sure. Then on Sunday I had a small window of opportunity where I was able to go to a shop where I'd seen a girly play set of a similar sized box to the lego, with $20 off the marked price. So I decided that although not the worlds biggest saving, it would save the old argument of 'mine's bigger than yours' on Christmas morning!

As per usual at this time of the year, the weeks are rolling around fast and filling up with appointments and engagements, especially now that The Bloke is in the fire brigade, I'm finding we have more and more on. Which is actually a good thing as we didn't really have a 'life' so to speak before he became a volunteer.

As the weeks count down, I look forward to browsing Kidspot and trying some of the crafty gift ideas - at least I have good intention on trying some, last year I just didn't get motivated in time.

Go JO!
