would love to get a chance to trail these sultana buds with my son please :)

Wow - These weren't in our house long. They were eaten by everyone and not just as a cereal, the kids enjoyed them as snacks too. And same here - when I struggled to get a meal on time.. better than snacking on the choc or chips I was snacking on. Not sure they were meant for that.... but it worked for us. :)

Thank you for the opportunity to test Kellogs Sultana Bran BUDS!. My 3 year old says "he LOVES them", when I asked him why, he said because they are so yum!!! My 5 year old wasn't so keen, and when I asked him why he didn't like them, he said he didnt like the stuff in the middle. The 3 year old said he would like me to buy them again, so they were definitely a hit with him! My husband also liked them, said they were nice and crunchy! Unfortunately I didn't get a a chance to try them once the kids and husband had got stuck in, they were all gone!

Thanks for the opportunity for our family to try Kellogg's buds! My 5yr & 3yr boys loved this crunch tasty cereal for breakfast! High in fibre, so keeps them fuller for longer! My son has also taken them to school as a healthy snack! My little one is always telling me he loves my dinner etc. This morning he said "love your buds mum" Ha ha! Great breakfast & snack option, we will be buying again! Thanks :)

thanks for the chance to try these. They are delicious .I especially liked them as a dry snack but hubby says that they are the best breakfast cereal that he has ever tried. He has been wanting them for breakfast AND for desert at night. They were the first thing that he asked me to put on the grocery list when we went shopping this week. I like the fact that they have a good fibre content and are low in salt and fat ,but I would still prefer less sugar. They are certainly much healthier than lots of other cereals for children.
ajpickering - 2:34 PM on Fri-24-Aug-2012 reply | message
My daughter (11yrs) and I loved them. They are fantastic and tasty (while being healthy but don't tell her that) served with milk for breakfast or dry as a snack in the lunchbox. My son (almost 3yrs) took one lick and said "yuck" but he does this for a majority of foods including food he has previously loved and also eats so we will work on him. We will be stocking this in the pantry now along with our favourite weetbix.
vish - 10:48 AM on Fri-24-Aug-2012 reply | message
Thanks for sending this. We loved it straight away and snacked nearly half the box as it is. We loved the flavor. But preferred this more as a snack than in milk. Thanks again. We will be buying this again as healthy snack option :)
cbirch - 8:07 AM on Thu-23-Aug-2012 reply | message
Thank you for the HUGE box of buds that came to our place. Master 2 years loves to have them dry in his lunch box as a snack. Does not seem too keen on having them with milk for some reason. I like them with milk though cause they stay cruncy for a while. Will be adding them to the shopping list! Thank you so much for the opportunity to try this product.

YUM!!! We love the Sultana Bran Buds in our house - hubbie and I eat them most mornings, Miss Three eats them dry each morning or in a container for morning tea at daycare. Miss Three likes the fun factor I think, I like that they don't taste sugary or too sultanary and they are nice and light. On our third box since recieving our review box, we're converts :)
radioguru - 11:29 AM on Tue-21-Aug-2012 reply | message
Oh.My.Goodness!! Thank you so much Kidspot for our pack of BUDS. Mornings are always crazy in my house. My husband, 3 daughters (8, 3 and 9 months) and I are always on the lookout for new and interesting cereals to try, and this one blew our socks off! Everyone loved them! They reminded us a bit of Nutragrain...but my kids recognised the tv adverts for BUDS and were super excited to try them.
The next morning, by the time I had reached the table, the kids had had their breakfast and finished the milk, so I grabbed a handful of BUDS and ate them dry. YUM!!! They are my new favourite snack - with or without milk! :o)

Firstly, thank you so much Kidspot for selecting my family to trial this cereal!
I must say I was pleasantly surprised to see that my 4 year old (who is either a weetbix or cheerios kid) got stuck into his bowl of Sultana Buds making very enjoyable "mmmmm" noises as he ate ... & not to score brownie points but I found it really interesting the next day as I poured Nesquik Choc balls into his bowl he protested & insisted he had Sultana buds, I think you have won over my child so I thank you as I do not think I would have bought these otherwise, now they are on my next shopping list :) cheers! Highly recommend this product!
leebd - 8:40 PM on Mon-20-Aug-2012 reply | message
Ok, so this will be my first mixed review. I loved the taste of these but one of my preschool girls didn't like the taste. I found that they didn't keep me full for long. I guess they weren't very dense and so when breakfast usually keeps me going until lunch time these did not. Perhaps more an adult breakfast but could do with being a bit more substantial. Thanks :)
TheBestNest - 4:04 PM on Sun-19-Aug-2012 reply | message
We LOVE this cereal. My 7yo son eats them for breakfast with milk, in his lunchbox or at home as a snack. They are so tasty and crispy. I am not a huge sultana fan but find these really tasty and hard to stop eating! A really yummy cereal option, with a subtle fruity taste. Would highly recommend, these are a new staple grocery item for our family.
george8 - 8:54 PM on Fri-17-Aug-2012 reply | message
My children were not keen on this cereal so I'm glad I got to trial it before buying. It was the sultana inside they didn't like. Although I quite liked it. I liked how the outside was crunchy with a soft chewy inside.

Review from shells1:

Thank you for choosing me to review this cereal.

My 3yr old girls loves them just by themselves, which is great as she doesnt seem to eat much apart from junk food!! My 1yr old boy likes them too i use them to distract him while i put him in his highchair or carseat( as he doesnt like sitting down for long!) Definately would buy these for our whole family, athanks again Kidspot!

My three kids absolutely love these, they can't get enough of them. I have had to buy 5 additional packets since the trial box. My oldest son will not eat anything with fruit in it and he will eat these and loves them.
Cazper - 8:55 AM on Tue-14-Aug-2012 reply | message
It had a nice crunchy texture, nice enough for little mouths. I always run out of ideas for snack foods and this is perfect. Would be good to see some more favours. Thanks for the trial. Great product and liked the game on the packaging.
Mumma - 7:09 PM on Sun-12-Aug-2012 reply | message
My grandchildren tried these Sultana Bran Buds and thought they were OK to start off with, but went back to their usual cereals the next time they came over. They all actually enjoyed them dry as a snack in their hands rather with milk on them. One actually commented that the sultanas were like sticky glue and not a proper sultana. I have given them the box to use for a lunchtime snack rather than a breakfast cereal.
LIVINGLIFE - 9:53 PM on Sat-11-Aug-2012 reply | message
thanks for choosing us to try the sultana bran buds. My 10 year old son absolutely loves them and has two bowls for breakfast and says they are has second favourtie breakfast after nutrigrain, my six year old daughter on the other hand said they tasted yucky and felt funny in her mouth. I myself think they taste great and love the fact that the fruit is hidden in the middle. Will definately buy this again.
goddess588 - 10:46 AM on Sat-11-Aug-2012 reply | message
Thanks for letting us test the Sultana Bran Buds. Miss 10 was disappointed that there wasn't much fruit in them and says she could hardly taste the sultanas but Mr 12 said they were better than Sultana Bran (high praise from him as he loves those) because each one was both crunchy and sweet. There's really only a thin lining of sultana in each bud but you can really taste it. They're good dry as well and we will eat them this way as snacks.
Keryn247 - 9:08 AM on Sat-11-Aug-2012 reply | message
These are awesome my daughter loves them, shes 1 and I give her 5 or 6 in her little bowl as a snack (no milk) she eats them before the raisins so thats saying something. My husband and I both tried them with milk, and they are really good the filling in them is great I can understand why my daughter likes them so much. A winner for us!!
steff - 8:15 PM on Fri-10-Aug-2012 reply | message
Thanks for letting us try these. The whole family liked these although I would prefer more fruit in them. My 16 year old has two bowls for breakfast and he is usually picky with breakfast. My four year old likes them dry as a snack which is great. Love the fact that they are high in fibre and have vitamins and minerals. Perfect for snacking on adn putting in lunchbox for kindy. Will be buying these again.
petitemumma - 2:27 PM on Fri-10-Aug-2012 reply | message
we received our box last week.thank you. mr 3 tryed these straight away and has been having these for breakfast everyday with milk for a week now and still loves them, def a hit with him.miss 5 took one look at the box and said...i dont like them but with a bit of coaxing she tryed some with milk & also likes these.both kids also like these dry in their lunchboxes. they are a good bite size for little ones. hubby had a try and thought they tasted like cardboard & i thought they were okay but i felt like there wasnt enough sultanas in them & so felt abit tastless (i have a huge sweet tooth though)
Angel - 11:21 AM on Fri-10-Aug-2012 reply | message
Thanks for the trial ! Unfortunately boy 5 didn't like them with or without milk, even tho' he eats a similar product, he said "there's not enough fruit in them" (this boy is a big fruit eater). Other boy 4 said "I like them, yum yum yum" & ate them without milk - this boy is not a big fruit eater so they suited him. Mum likes them, with milk. Dad wasn't that impressed on first bite, but said the fruit flavour came out more as he progressed, he scored them 3 out of 5. Thank you, nice to try something different.
fishingmum - 8:05 PM on Thu-9-Aug-2012 reply | message
Great trial - thanks guys. Master 8 said that they looked like cat biscuits but agreed to try them - he has now scoffed most of the box by eating them for breakfast and then another bowl when he gets home from school. He also eats them as a snack straight out of the box. Master 5 did try them however he was not won over, but this didn't surprise me as he doesn't eat much cereal anyway. Personally, I love them and cannot walk past the box without grabbing a handful and munching on them - best thing is I don't need to feel guilty!!!! Also the kids loved the look of the box with the little buds on it! Thanks again.
Nipper - 2:44 PM on Thu-9-Aug-2012 reply | message
We have a winner!!!
Thank you for choosing us to review, dd1 - miss 9 literally jumped up and down when they arrived, she dug into the box and started eating them straight away, needless to say that I will have my sultana bran to myself now and she will be begging for these at the supermarket. She is so impressed that they dont get soggy when soaked in milk and even dd2-8 months enjoys nibbling on them when broken up for her. Therefore think we'll be buying them, just one thing, they really could do with some more sultana on the inside as it is a little thin but only a minor
Rosslie - 1:26 PM on Thu-9-Aug-2012 reply | message
I would love to try something new with my child, she is now at an age where we can explore her breakfast options and am looking for something she enjoys but that is also healthy! There are many choices out there but not all of them tick the healthy and taste boxes at the same time? Would also be good to be able to get something the whole family will enjoy!

Thanks for selecting me to trial these yummy sultana buds, we received the box on monday and have tried them - when my 2yo daughter first saw the box she went "wooooow" so we opened them up to eat as a snack (without milk) they taste great and my daughter chows them down, great lunchbox alternative. Not much taste in the sultana department - they dont sog when milk is added which is good. Overall my daughter and i thought they tasted scrummy.

I would like to review Kellog's Sultana Bran Buds as it not only children who need more bran in their diet. Breakfast can be boring sometimes.

I had these with milk this morning. Really tasty. Didn't go too soggy, even after I left them for a few minutes to feed the baby. I felt full afterwards for a good 4 hours, so a good decent meal. I usually feel really hungry all the time at the moment due to breastfeeding.

I received my box of these 2 days ago, and so far have been a great hit with my 4 yr old for after daycare snacks each day. She loves having them without milk - just on their own. Admittedly I like them this way too! Yum! Will definitly be buying.

My box was in the mail box when I got my older boys off the bus yesterday afternoon. They couldn't wait to get stuck in, so it was Sultana Bran Buds for afternoon tea! They have declared them delicious. This morning all three boys had two bowlfuls and again have informed me that they are very yum and could even be taken in their lunch boxes to school and preschool. Excellent and a great after school snack. Thanks for letting us try them.

I received my box yesterday wih my daughter opening the parcel up. She had some after school and enjoyed them wih milk. I also tried them and thought that the sultanas were actually inside the middle, but they are all through the bud. I expected to see a sultana inside each one, not all chopped up, but we enjoyed these and the boys' gobbled them down.

I gave some to my daughter in her lunchbox to snack on which is something different and will do this regularly as they are enjoyable.

I have been trying to convince my son to have Kellogs Sultana Bran Buds again after a 'bad' experience with them years ago. I managed to get him to eat one and then I had to give him a large bowl - he even sacrificed his crumpets on Sunday for a bowl of Sultana Bran Buds. I have also had a bowl (or two) and have found that you need to eat them reasonably fast if you have milk so they stay crunchy. The sugar content though is a wee bit on the high side but definitely not as bad as most other cereals and the pluses outweigh this minus. The young man has also just informed me that over the last two days, he has not been as hungry at morning tea time. Thank you for the chance to reintroduce my son to a cereal that I am more than happy to buy for him.

I received my box of Sultana Bran Buds yesterday and miss 2 1/2 immediately demanded I open them for lunch. She devoured a small bowl as part of her lunch without milk and has been asking for them ever since, I can say she just loved them. Mr 8 had them for breakfast this morning and was so happy to have a change in cereal. He said they were "Beautiful". It was nice knowing I was giving my children a breakfast that they loved and was nutritionally good for them not containing all the sugars and colours. Well done Kelloggs I think as long as the price is not too high, they will be a part of our breakfast array.
Have since bought another box under the demand of the children in my house! Think they are here to stay. I have even had a few handfuls when passing the pantry on occasion.
kymmage - 4:31 PM on Tue-7-Aug-2012 reply | message
I gave Miss 5 a baggie of these for school today in lieu of chippies. She absolutely loved them and didn't miss the chips at all. Making up a baggie of these per day could work out cost effective if I'm not buying chips as well. These would make good finger food for a toddler too. I did think there could be a bit more fruit, as it is just a thin coating inside the 'pillow'. Got to try this with milk next!

Thanks so much for allowing us to trial this super cereal:
Sultana Bran Buds!!!
My teenagers have eagerly tested this and Ms 14 has given it two thumbs up.
However Mr17 and Ms14 said that it was a tad cardboardy tasting on the outside when eated as a dry snack -but with milk both liked that it was sweet but not too sweet, has a crispy outside and yet a chewy inside that stay firm when in milk, instead of just dissolving into paste!
Again thanks for letting us test - A++

Our Kellogg's Sultana Bran Buds turned up yesterday Thankyou! Mr 4 and Miss 9 both had a bowl not long after and Miss 9 absolutley loves them. Mr 4 sadly does not after two mouthfuls, so I finished them off for him and not being the biggest cereal eater around I finished them all and loved them too! Miss 9 also took a wee bag of dry Buds for a snack at school. So maybe not for everyone but the majority of our household thinks they are great. Thanks so much for the opportunity to test this product Kidspot and Kellogg's!

We got a box of sultana bran buds on monday, I had some for breakfast today. I found them yummy, but still prefer regular sultana bran, as the outside seemed a little cardboardy tasting to me. My daughter however is 2 and REALLY loved them. So i'm going to give them to her for potty training treats, as they'll be a hit. Thanks v much for the trial kidspot and kellogs!

Ok so, had a courier arrive yesterday with a box of Sultana Bran Buds, my husband and I decided to try some so we opened them and had a bowl each with milk, to be honest we didnt like them with milk, they just tasted a little odd, we then tried them dry and liked them a lot better, Our 8 year old arrived home from school so i gave her a little bowl of them dry and she LOVED them!!! our 19 month old absolutely LOVED them dry as well, theyre such a neat littlke snack, Miss 8 had them with milk this morning and loved them also, I still prefer the taste of normal Sultana Bran but the kids loved the Buds, will buy more as a snack for them, thanks for letting us give them a go!!!

Thanks Kellogg's and Kidspot! We got a surprise to get a large packet of Sultana Bran buds today. Our girls always enjoy participating in the Kidspot trials! We opened them up straight away for a snack.
The buds are a great shape and size for snacking on. Our girls enjoy dry cereals at the moment that they just snack on out of a bowl so these are great for that. (Also a late evening snack in front of tv for me!) They taste healthy and wholemeal flavour and I like the nutritional value in them. Our one recommendation is about the fruit inside the buds - to have more fruit filling and maybe a variety of fruit fillings, one daughter suggested strawberry, because we found them a bit dry in taste. I think a bit extra fruit to balance the wheat flavour would be great. Would love to be able to buy a variety of fruit flavours or a mixture pack eg apricot, blueberry, raspberry etc Would be able to make a game out of guess what's inside the one I'm eating!

Thank you so much for selecting us! A courier arrived this afternoon, to deliver a mystery box with "Don't Crush" on it. Miss 5 was super excited to see what was inside. We opened the box and immediately opened the packet too. She got a cup and we filled it with Buds. We then had that as her after-school snack. She is currently making lots of "mmmm" sounds in the lounge as she eats them dry. She is now asking for MORE. "Can I have some more...can I PLEASE have some more" - better go. She is now going into the cupboard to steal some more! hee hee

Wow received a box of sultana buds in the mail a couple of days ago and didn't even know I had been selected, so it was a nice surprise. My kids looovvveeee these! I have to keep them rationed as they would have devoured the whole packet in one morning! Great flavour and I top them with some sliced banana for added sweetness. Would definitely think about getting these as an alternative to the tried and trues that I already use.

I would love to try the Sultana Bran buds as I struggle to find reasonably priced healthy breakfast options for my family. My son also eats almost anything from porridge, toast, weetbix, anything! It would be interesting to see how he likes cereals that you have with milk. He also loves to eat things like nutrigrain as a snack so I think he would love the buds also in his preschool lunch box as a snack. It would be wonderful to know that he is having nutritious snacks that aren't packed full of sugar. Thank you very much :)

I find choosing the right breakfast cereal hard as so many are full of sugar but I read recently in the Healthy Food Guide that Sultana Bran Buds are a good choice and would love to try them to see if the taste matches the health factor, Can be hard to find the right balance there! Also would be great as snacks for my 13 months old. Always trying to find new things to interest her.

We are always looking for new cereals for my daughter to try. She is a bit fussy when it comes to food so would be interested to see if this is something she might enjoy. We haven't tried the Sultana Bran Buds yet, and it looks like a cereal that would be easy for my 2 1/2 year old to manage by herself without losing half of it on the floor like some other cereals.

I would soooo love to try these, would help breakfast time be less of a struggle and give me some spare time to feed my youngest wee girl. Too busy in the mornings and this might give me that extra pair of hands that I desperately need heheeee - she can feed herself while I can feed my 8mth old and sip a coffee at the same time ;) oooh wouldnt that be nice

This product sounds great for my son. He LOVES the flavours of dried fruits like sultanas, and getting him to eat his breakfast is rather daunting at times if he turns his nose for something rather than what he is given.

Kellogg's sultana bran sounds so healthy. I'm always on the lookout for a cereal that I'll like and that the Grandchildren will also enjoy.
I got the chocolate flavoured cereal and was informed by the grandchildren that they're not good for you.
I'm sure even they would have to agree this one is healthy.

YUM YUM YUM YUM YUM!!! I and my family would love to try this product. I am not the biggest fan of cereals for myself and my kids, but love how attractive this product looks, and we love the add on the television to. I really struggle to get the right amount of fibre into my kiddies every day, and seeing that this product is high in fibre and already 1/3 of their daily needs would kick start my kids off to a great day everyday!!!! Its really hard to find a cereal that is high and fibre and actually tastes good to, so would love to try this product so we to can benefit from the nutritional contents of the product. Definately hoping to be selected for this review. My kiddies want to try the "purple boxed buddies". Please pick us for this review :-) Thank you.

Im the type who likes to emphasize on a product the kids see on TV. So when they see it in the cupboards and that expression of their eyes light up it gives you a sense of pride. It also encourages them to healthy eating with out them realising. Its a neat trick.

I am constsantly looking for something healthy my 7yr old can have in the morning that will last the active man till lunch. He cant stop at school for morning tea as he must play and run, no time for eating.
At the moment he has weetbix and porridge but he complains every time we go to the supermarket as he never gets anything fun for breakfast. We do have a rule however, that he can choose what ever box of cereal he wants to have during the holidays.
I also have a 2 yr old that likes to eat what ever her big brother eat, so it would be nice to have something I know is good for them both.

My son and I (his dad doesn't eat breakfast - naughty eh!) have trouble getting energy from cereal to last through to lunchtime. I have been wary about trying bran products because of housewives tales and that I have always considered bran to be for old people. But since I am heading very fast into that direction (old not housewife), it might be time for me to start. It would be good to see if you can last the distance on Sultana Bran Buds and whether it has any effect in the classroom - mine and my son's.

I love having breakfast in the morning and having cereal is one of them. I would love to try out the sultana bran buds as me and my family has never tried any of the sultana brands so that would be a change.

We don't have a lot of money in our household and the kids are forever asking me to buy yummy cereals. Unfortunately my budget cant seem to get past weetbix and rices of which the kids are sick of. They would be over the moon to be able to try something new please :)

We LOVE sultana bran in our house and to be honest I have eyed up the buds and wondered what they were like - wish they did the smaller trial size packs for sale (think they were around $1 for a small bag to trial) like cereal companies used to, then I might try more different ones - don't want to risk buying a whole box that might not be liked and eaten.

My 3 year old son will only eat Jam toast for breakfast now, we had success in the past with Cheerios but found when they didn't arrive in a package from the courier 'present man' they where not so appealing to him. Failing that we went back to Coco pops & get mixed reactions sometimes he eats then other times not so much. I want him to have something healthy that we can both eat. Would love to trial these and its a bonus that the 'present man' may bring them because i will let him believe they always arrive that way.

I have a hard time getting my kids to eat a decent breakfast. These Sultana Bran Buds sound tasty and nutritious. I like the fact that they are high in fibre, good source of iron and have the heart foundation tick. It might just be the thing that they want for breakfast every day! We would love to trial this product.

Breakfast is a HUGE part of our day. It's the first chance I get to sit down with my busy family and discuss our plans for the day. My girls (8 and 3) are very big cereal eaters, but they get bored easily. We would love to try out this cereal, as we've been watching the adverts on tv, and my girls would like to try it. :o)

We eat Weetbix in this house, with the occasional box of different cereal for a holiday treat - most often my son chooses sultana bran. I'm sure he'd love Sultana Bran Buds - we'd love to be chosen to trial them.

We currently go through at least 4 boxes of cereal a week in our house for our 3 growing boys. Start with a base of weetbix and add other cereals like nutrigrain or cornflakes for flavour and texture. We would love to trial Kellogs Sultana Bran Buds please. :-)

I am always on the lookout for something different to tempt my two boys to be more enthusiatic about eating breakfast. The more fussy they are the slower they eat and the later they are for school! So I would love to try these Sultana Buds on them to see how they find them compared to their usual cereal/porridge they normally have.
fishingmum - 10:09 PM on Mon-16-Jul-2012 reply | message
Would love to try these - with one that likes any cereal and one that will only eat toast, I would say we can give a pretty good all round opinion, not to mention that I myself would love to give them a go too. Thanks Kidspot.

We would love to be reviewers for this product! We usually are a weetbix family, but sometimes the kids love to try other cereals. It is nice to know that this has lots of fibre and that yummy taste of sultanas (which we all love!). The kids also like cereal that stays crunchy in milk, so this option sounds great!
BJW - 7:39 PM on Mon-16-Jul-2012 reply | message
Well our family of 5 would love to review Sultana Bran Buds as we all eat different cereals for breakfast. This would certainly start a great discussion between the parents, boys' and daughter!!! I do wish the children would change their cereal choices and this just might be the chance I'm looking for especially when the Sultana Bran Buds are high in iron and fibre.

My children like sultana bran, but I have always been weary of the sultana buds as they just look to much fun to be healthy. Would love to be proven wrong.
Greerfamily - 6:45 PM on Mon-16-Jul-2012 reply | message
Hmmm.... why would i like to review these.... to find a new healthy / flavoursome cereal to offer my children and husband. Currently its ricebubbles/ cornflakes or porridge. I try to add in sultanas or fruit but they don't like the additions or lumps. So something with fruit flavour and goodness packed in but with the crunch they adore would be fantastic. Nice to see how long a packet would last in our house also to test quality and qauntity value :)

I just saw Target the other day and was horrified to find out that Hubbards Bugs in Mud, which my daughter absolutely loves, is 40% sugar!!!, Even more sugar than Coco Pops which was just slightly less. I realised they had sugar in them obviously, but how much sugar, was a bit of a shock! Not quite half sugar is completely unacceptable. So we are definately in the market for a healthy replacement cereal.
