 Can you drive a manual?

Having a discussion with one of my girlies today and telling her that if our car sells today (a guy is driving up to look at it), then I'll be stuck driving one of the work wagons til we can get out of town to look for a new car.
She said she would struggle because she can't drive a manual. It hadn't even crossed my mind as I can drive both happily.
So, fess up - who here cannot drive a manual?

Sorry but I too can drive both. I learnt and took my test in a manual in the UK so I'm allowed to drive both. We've had auto's since we got to NZ 3 years ago but yesterday I surprised myself by going to change gears!! The engine was revving high and I grabbed the stick to change before realizing the handle was different. Duh! :-P

Like you PaulaF, I took my lessons and tests in the UK where most cars are manuals so yes, I can drive a manual. Saying that, there's no way I'd buy one ever again - I hate the flippin things and much prefer an automatic.

I can drive both but prefer an auto. I learnt to drive in a manual. I drive an auto but Hubby's is a manual. On the odd time I drive it I feel like a learner driver as I am having to make a conscious effort to change gears. it is funny how the younger generation is learning to drive only manuals. I know several older people who would never drive an automatic and even more that would never own an automatic.

I can drive both, learned in a manual and prefer manuals but it looks like we will have to do the same as LivingLife and sell the manual to get a 7 seater and I have not found any that are manual yet but there is still hope

I learn't to drive in a manual and often drive one still, as sons cars and hubbys work wagon are manual. Much prefer my 8 seater auto though.

I learnt to drive in a manual (28 years ago!) and had lots of manual cars right up until my first automatic in my 30s!  Now I much prefer the automatic :)

I don't drive -- yet -- but if I do, it will certainly be with an automatic.
