Im Kylie and I have a 8 month old little girl Mikayla and im now 8 weeks pregnant with #2! My husband and I are very excited to have another beautiful bundle to come into our lives. I am however alittle worried with having two young babies to take care of as one little one is full on as it is. Im sure I will find the time somewhere haha. We have recently just relocated to cromwell and have a lovely midwife there which im so happy about,

Congratulations.

My kids are 3 years apart, so I have no idea on what lies ahead for you with a small age gap, apart from what I've heard from friends with small age gaps between their kids.

Being a parent is all about highs & lows. I don't think it matters how much of an age gap you have. There will be fun times & there will be hard times. But you'll get through it because you have to.

All the best :-)

Congratulations!!!! How exciting! We would loved to have had a small gap between our children, however our gaps are huge! 2.5 years and 7 years so far! we are hoping to have another, which if we do the gap is likely to be about 5 years!

I do homebased childcare, so have 4 children 3 and under during the week. I love it!! Hard work some days, but its fantastic having them all so close together in age!

Congratulations!! My closest age gap is 23 months, but know plenty of friends with 15,16,17 mth age gaps..some even smaller.
I'm sure your babies will grow to be close friends.

Thank you everyone
I think the news has finally settled in and I am now getting really excited. My sister and I have a 5 year age gap and never got along until now so I really wanted a small age gap when I had children. I had a really good pregnancy with my DD so I have my fingers crossed I have another smooth sailing pregnancy with the second. I have not had morning sickness yet just feeling alittle tired hopefully it stays that way :)

We have friends whose second child was born a few weeks before their first turned one! That's the smallest age gap I know of (is any closer even possible?!). They say it's hard work but the kids are growing up close together, and there are lots of benefits too, which they focus on! Personally I'm too chicken to have kids that close, I'm not great with the baby stage, so mine will be nearly 3 years apart by the time my current bun-in-the-oven is born :)

Congratulations! We have a seven year age gap between our first DD and our DS....We have just found out we're having Twins!! So I am pretty panicked how we're going to juggle 4 kids!!, was so unexpected. There will be a 3 and a bit age gap so not too close...Our DD will be 10 when these two are here and shes already a mother hen so I am sure she will enjoy helping me :) hehe Enjoy your pregnancy!

I have 18 months between my two girls. It is easier now that they are older. They love playing together. I think there are lots of advantages in having them close together. Most of the time they will be at the same school, similar routines. You will also have times that they are both sleeping during the day which gives you a chance to rest too. It is busy but so rewarding too. One of them comes for a hug and the other one joins in too. If one is upset the other one gives her a favourite toy to cuddle. It is so cute.

Lovely. Congratulations.

I think it is natural to worry about managing two when you have a babe in arms but in around 6 months or so nature will take care of things and your baby will become more independent and start showing signs of welcoming a sibling - such as holding dolls and becoming as baby focussed as you are.

It is wonderful how things work. It will be great.
