With summer fast approaching (YAY!) i am on the look out for a suitables unscreen for my 2.9mth yr old son.He has very sensitive skin which at present has broken out in terrible eczema and he gets very itchy and sore.its at that stage where he scratching till he bleeds which is breaking my heart     .:-(    Can anyone recoomend a suitable sunscreen for him? Would have to be non-perfumed and as natural as possiblea nd preferably not to costly! any advice would be appriciated.

I have the same problem.  Last year we went to health 2000 and got a completely natural one - it was in a green and white tube and the only one that didn't affect his skin. It was pricey, but so worth it!  Good luck.

Hi there, I myself have sensitive skin unable to use anything but zinc. When I had my girls theyre the same very sensitive skin I use the Mustela sunscreen its been the only one after using alot that works and no reaction, Im happy to report I to can use it so thats great.  It is expensive I paid $54 for 75ml tube but you dont need much.  Good luck I hope this works for you.

If zinc works, couldn't you just use a regular nappy rash cream?

hi- I've been researching this lately and it is recommended NOT to use any sunscreen on a baby under 6 months...instead just cover up and keep out of the sun.

Yes- I too have heard that it is best not to use sunscreen on a baby... BUT... I found the mustela stuff very good and also nutrogena has a toddler type which is also very good and for sensitive skin...

Opps sorry if my comment came across too strong! Not intended...
Its a hard one -I'm not keen to put any chemicals on my babies or kiddies skin and its sooo hard to make decisions like this about the right product - and who is to say the really expensive products are really any better. Obviously a shorter ingredient list is the way to go and avoiding all those nasty ingredients.

I'm super keen to try out the Aveeno sunscreen (factor 70!). I have one child with mild eczema and the Aveeno products have done wonders for his skin. I wonder how long factor 70 sunscreen lasts on the skin?

The Hamilton range is great too - it's in a pink and white bottle and has a sensitive one for toddlers.  I use it on my toddler and it's the only one he's not reacting to.  the other thing is that it gives incredible protection!
