 Parenting shame!

My kids' favourite stories seem to be the ones that involve them doing embarrassing things when they were little - not sure why they take such joy from my shame! Like my then toilet-training son's loud announcement to an entire platform at the train station that "I been wee wee!"

Thankfully I don't recall them doing anything REALLY disgusting or embarrassing in public. Unless I'm just sub-consciously blocking it from my memory!

What is the worst thing your child ever did while you were out visiting someone else's home or out in public?

This isn't the worse thing but it was laughable!  We were picking up my daughter from school and it had been raining so there were lots of puddles everywhere, Luke (20 months) loved the puddles! We were leaving school and I turned around, thinking he was following, when i saw him run back to the biggest puddle, kneel down and start lapping.  Lots of parents and lots of kids thought it was highly amusing!!!  I'm starting to think he spends too much time with the dog

I was out at the supermarket with my 27mth old son and 8yr old daughter when much to my shame my son leant over the top of the trolly and poked his finger right in some poor ladies bottom and proceeded to yell "yay bum".
Im actually unsure as to who was more shocked but he thought it was great fun and my daughter couldn't stop laughing...so not cool

Darling daughter let one rip in the supermarket.  I've learnt not to ignore her when she tells you she's "dropped a stinky" or "farted" because she immediately goes from laughing her head off to yelling it out!
I took my daughter to Spotlight (whose now 4yrs old) wen I turned around she had her pants and undies down below her knees and was ready to pee on the floor.  Not at all amusing as she was completely toilet trained dang it.
I picked up my son from kindy (he's now 6yrs old), he gave everyone the royal salute (obviously didn't know what given the finger really meant) as he continued to do it to everyone on the way out the gate he said in his nicest voice "see ya tomorrow, catch ya lata alligator".  Anywho afta getting out the gate we walk past a mum putting her kid in the carseat and darling son says "ewww mum, she's fat, totally fat" - I have no idea where he got that but I reprimanded him.
My son at the top of his lungs "mum, grandad sh*t himself - he stinks to high heaven"... the whole neighbourhood heard that, arghhh!

There are so many it's almost impossible to choose, so I'm going with the most recent. It wasn't exactly embarrassing for me as I was safely hidden in my car watching.
I went to pick ds1 and ds2 up from school as it was pouring with rain, saw them both come running across the field leaping over the worst of the puddles. Half way across ds1 jumped a puddle and landed in a muddy patch, his legs went out from under him and he landed on his bum in puddle. And if that wasn't bad enough he skidded again as he stood up, almost did the splits and his shorts ripped all the way up the front. He scuttled the rest of the way holding his polar fleece down to cover the damage while I almost wet myself in the car.

when we would go to the supermarket (we being myself and two girls who's dad hadn't been in the picture since the youngest was 6 weeks), once we were in line my youngest would turn to the other male shoppers and say "Are you my Daddy?" :\

it is a long time ago, but i remember when my son was just developing his speech skills, we were in the bank, lined up and it was very quiet, he started to say a word that resembled very much the four letter F word,it was not that of course, but i was so embarrassed and he just kept saying it over and over again, was my face red, yep .

i can also remember another time, my son was rather quiet and shy most of the time, and i had the avon representative over teaching me the ropes as i was about to become a rep, then just out of the blue he said i want you to go home now, coming from him was a bit of a shock, we just had a good laugh about it, he was obviously wanting my attention.

We were at the airport view carpark and as we were pulling in a contractors truck was to our left with two men eating their lunch. Master 4 asked for his window down and then yelled to the two guys 'Hey can you move? I can't see the planes!' I was so embarressed and thankful they found it funny and moved their truck for him to see.
And one day while we were at Harvey Norman purchasing our bed, he stood up on the seat in the middle the store and said 'I can do poos on the BIG toilet!' lol

We had just arrived in New Zealand and the girls (then aged 7 and 2 years) loved watching the local TV and ads that go with it.
So on one of our shops to the local Countdown, we are going down the toiletry isle with my dear husband dragging along. Much to my dismay Miss(aged 7yrs) picks up a packet of Kotex and at the top of her lungs "MOMMY YOU MUST BUY THIS ONE! LIKE THE LADY ON TV AND HER BEAVER!"
Needless to say I couldnt find my husband and the shopping was done pretty quick after that :)

Mister 3ish, me and my mum went into a small store and mum went around one side of the low stands and I went the other with mister in the pushchair. Mum passed wind just as we were about to separate and next thing mister yells at the top of his voice across the store, "Grandma, why are you always farting?".

Another time mister 2ish was in the pushchair as I waited to exit Whicoulls behind an elderly lady with sticks to help her walk. She was very slow and next thing from the pushchair comes one word ... "MOVE!!!"
