Our daughter Azharia Martin (6.6lbs, 50cm) was born on Thursday 24 February, at 11:20 am at Taranaki Base Hospital after 15 hour labour.  I was expecting a shorter labour after all, my first one was born within 6 hours...
Everyone is well.  Dad's trying to adjust the night shifts and finding it a great challenge.  This is his first child and my second.

Ah! Congratulations!! 15 hours isn't too bad, although 6 is better. I've just got the one and he took 24! Mind you he got into a bad position (his back towards my spine) halfway through, so my contractions slowed down. And I'm sure dad will sort things out, it is a bit crazy the first time round, I know I'm still working stuff out and as soon as I do he grows and changes everything on me! LOL I'm sure he'll work things out.
But well done. Enjoy your new baby!!

Thank you all.
Paula, the first time around was crazy and I've had a 16 year gap in between.  SO this feels like the first time around.

Congratulations on the safe arrival of your daughter, Vegmum! Wow yes, 16 years' gap would feel like another 1st time round, super-exciting! How's your elder daughter coping? Hope she's thrilled to be a big sister, and helping you out too. Best wishes!
