I have an incredible outstandamazing midwife and am going to be incredibly sad when she leaves after her final visit next week. For the past few weeks I have been trying to think of something to give her but cannot for the life of me think of something good enough for her. Did you give your midwife a gift? What did you give your her?

How about a voucher for a massage? Or a beauty treatment? Every woman I know would love that! (Me included!)

I agree, vouchers are great!! My midwife loved reading, so we gave her chocolates and a book-store voucher which she really loved and appreciated!

I gave my midwife a mother and child ornament after both births. The first was for her office, the second was for her garden. She had several of that tpye of thing in her office so I knew she liked that. I also wrote her a thank you letter. As a teacher I always appreciated the thank you cards more than any other gift.

Ours was amazing too, we gave her a hamper full of goodies. Agreed with Jopukeko a written card or letter is most appreciated.

For DS1 I gave my mw a couple of bottles of wine.
I had a different mw for DS2 and I gave her a coffee mug, plunger and fancy coffee - she was always talking about coffee. I had the same mw for DD but she was on holiday so the back up attended my birth. I gave them both a pot and planted fancy lettuces in it for summer (my final visit was not long before xmas). My mw loved it

I loved both my midwives as well. I was supposed to send my first midwife flowers but I don't think I got around to it :( With my second I sent her some nz fudge but I am not 100% she received it? I wish I was more prepared hahah but with number two I lost a bunch of blood so was pretty out of it for a while. Emailed them both a huge thanks though. Esp number two for her fast handy work along with the other midwives after my daughter was born. Was all a bit crazy

I agree with the other ladies they appreciate anything you give, it is the thought and love behind it
