English according to Miss 3

I have often pondered on the strange feature of the English language but when I am around children I discover more funny things. 1. This morning I put boysenberry jam on our toast. The expression on Miss 3's face was priceless as she envisaged tiny boys in the berries. She now has a new favourite jam. 2. Last Christmas I was singing 'Santa Claus in come to town' she informed me that she didn't want to be good for snakes.3. We were talking about pairs of socks, shoes etc and she questioned why we have a pair of pants or undies but not a pair of t shirts or jerseys. I couldn't answer that.Does your child ever surprise you with their interpretation on the English language?

My big boy asked why he's called Santa Claus "coz he's got no claws!"lol

oh yes I wish I'd written down some of the things our two have come up with over the years. One that always sticks in my mind though is Pocket who used to sing twinkle twinkle little star.................. etc etc............ like a Diane in the sky. One of her daycare teachers at the time was called Diane so I can sort of see how she got that lol.
