Finding out what you are having, boy or girl
Posted 2:53 PM on Thu-2-Feb-2012
Hi all, I know this sounds silly but would like to know who has tried any tricks/wifes tales regarding to finding out what you are carrying. I just had my 20week scan telling me that i am having my 3rd boy but not convinced, Everything so far feels totally different to my last two pregnancy's so I thort i was carrying a girl. Just a wee bit of fun to see if people tried anything and if they were right. Has anyone tried the gender kits? and what other wifes tales tricks are there.

My Aunty tried the old wives tale of, your wedding ring on the end of a string and then hung over your baby belly. Apparently swinging accross means a boy and circles means a girl (or is that the other way round :P). Anyway, it showed that no:5 was a girl which was correct. The radiologist couldn't be sure of the sex and with 4 boys already she wasn't willing to make the call!
I also had morning sickness all the way through my pregnancies with the girls and with the boys it stopped at around 6 mths.

Yes i know i think ill just have to wait, I dont care what the sex is but im very impatient that's all and really dont want to waste money again on buying for the wrong sex as my first child was wrong in the scan and this being my last really want the kids rooms organised/decorated befor baby comes as we will be doing a bedroom move with the two boys. Funny as i think allot of the symtoms/wifes tales contridict themselfs and just a coinsidence if they do work. I craved caramel sundae's from mc d's with my first two boys which mean girls according to the tales.

the eyes won't tell you either, you'll have to look a little lower down lol.
friends and family tried all sorts of methods on me when I was pg with my second. They unanimously identified baby as a girl. Of course HE arrived with a dangle not a dimple and proved them all wrong.

I knew what I was having every time before my scans by my cravings, sweet for my girl and savoury for my boys but this deosn't work for everyone, I guess the only way to really know what you are having is to wait till you stare into your baby's beautiful eyes:)

Well I certainly didn't feel amazing LOL but ate so many lollies and HEAPS of vegemite and avo on toast, yummy. Oh well, you could always ask for another scan?

Really, couse from day dot all i want for breakfast is vegemite and avocado on toast, something i do like but i have had everyday since i've ben pregnant. When i was really sick the first 15 weeks all i could stomach was that, cereal, potatoes and fruite. I crave sweet stuff, lollies and chocolate something i dont normally eat. My skin is glowing, nails are actually growing and i feel amazing, complete opposite to my last two pregnancy's. ?????????

I found out I was expecting a girl at my 20 week scan, later on in the pregnancy I went into a healthshop and the lady said "can I guess what you're having?' yep go ahead... anyway she asked what I was craving and I said mostly vegemite sandwhiches and she said - you're having a girl!!!! apparantly craving carbs is a sign of a girl..
