Monday-itus
Posted 10:54 AM on Mon-2-Jul-2012

Five hours and two coffees later and I'm still struggling to keep my eyes open, Why do Monday mornings have this effect on us?

Baby always gets up early but somehow 6am on a Monday morning seems far earlier than 6am any other morning, even on the weekend an early start means more time to relax or go out together whereas an early start on Monday morning doesn't hold an appeal at all for me. Sunday night often seems to be the night when Baby decides to wake three times more often than usual as well, Maybe a change of routine from the weekend mucks her sleeping up or? I really don't know, all I know is that I would love to go back to bed for the morning.

Am I the only one who hates Monday mornings or is there others out there like me as well? Do your Mondays go well?

I seem to be the opposite to you Camosmum, I do all my tidying and cleaning on Friday ready for the weekend and Monday seems to be the tired day. This afternoon Aunt flo arrived which probably explains why today seemed to be worse than usual.

I find on Mondays I am full of go and Monday is usually "housework" day (needs extra cleaning after having Daddy and son home all weekend too :) I get terrible Friday - itus though!

Mondays suck the big one for me! Soooo much work as everything starts on a Monday and it all just seems harder because it is a Monday!

The secret is to go to bed and get up at the same time every day. Sounds weird - but it works. Even if I'm mega tired I still wait til 'bedtime' before I go to bed. Doesn't apply to when you're sick though. Make it a bit hard when kids wake up in the night, but your body gets used to routine just like kids bodies do. Sunday naps are a great way of throwing your body out of whack for Monday too.
