I'm finally convinced
Posted 8:21 AM on Tue-31-Jul-2012

Little miss one is currently cutting molars but she's been pretty good about it, apart from the occasional extra night waking and grizzliness you would hardly know what's going on. She has been wearing a amber necklace since she got her first tooth at 4 months but I never really knew if it was doing anything I just left it there just incase it was helping.

Then yesterday morning I noticed the clasp on her amber necklace was a bit grubby so I took it off to clean and promptly forgot about it. Twenty minutes into her afternoon sleep she woke up screaming with a bright red face and continued screaming, I gave her pamol and she just cried and grizzled after that, she kept making funny faces and poking her tongue out. A couple of hours later it suddenly dawned on me that she wasn't wearing her necklace so I put it back on and amazingly enough she was back to her normal self by evening. It is very enlightening to me as I was a bit disbelieving about the whole thing and only wore it because I got given it. However now I truly think it helps and she'll be wearing it for quite some time now.

Thank goodness for amber necklaces.

I am certain they work. We had a necklace from 3 months for our eldest son who is almost 4 and he still wants to wear it everyday, we barely noticed him teething when he was little but assumed we were just lucky. But I also wasn't convinced it worked and when we had our second son we didn't rush out to purchase one until he starting being quite upset when he started teething. We both thought maybe the necklace does work and decided to try our eldest son's neckless but he wasn't going to give his up so we brought another, since then he has been great he still gets a little grumpy but nothing compared to before. It is a morning routine now they both line up to get there necklaces on, I assume they work as they love to wear them and if I forget to put them on they remind me. Both boys barely ever get sick and when they do it doesn't seem to last long or progress. I don't know if they really work but I am definately not giving them up in my opinion they are money well spent.

Good to know, On the morning of my boys 3 month birthday got his first two teeth, He'd been particularly grumpy and chomping on his hands which is why i brought it in the first place (at 2 1/2 months)!
I'm the same too, I think he's less bothered by them as he's still chomping on everything in site but not so grizzly about it. But i'm sure if i took it off we'd all know about it.
Now my biggest problem is how the heck do you teach a 3 month old not to bite at feed time! :( OUCHIE
