Boys

Tomorrow night we have two nephews to stay,  they are ages 7 and almost 9 so quite different to the giggly little rascals they were last time we had them at ages 4 and 5. Will be a lot of fun I think, we'll go out for the day and do 'boy things' I'm sure hubby will be in his element teaching these impressionable boys all sorts.... My family was just girls and at the moment I have just one daughter so boys are still rather a mystery to me.

Well actually Raglanmum, they ADORED my books - I have dozens and dozens of book and were totally amazed at my hubbys drawing skills (airplanes, cars... etc) so funny

I took my boys to Hanmer for the weekend. While there I ran into a friend and HER three boys, then it turned out she had another mutual friend and HER two boys staying with her. All our kids know each other, the older ones go to school together, in fact we all have a boy in the same year 2 class. I don't need to describe the mayhem do I lol.

It truly was fun. I remember fighting continually with my siblings but as we were all girls it was a different sort of fighting - name calling and more catty things, these two boys are really close in age and spent the whole time competing with each other, wrestling, throwing things at each other... so funny.
Boy one: "eyes for christmas aye?"

(no reaction from boy two except some muffled giggles so...)
Boy one: "cat got your tongue huh?"

etcetera etcetera so on and so forth...
and yes pillow fights with the cushions, coin fights with the parking meter coins in the car, food fights with the chips.....

Hee hee... I like ekubo have ALL boys, I don't even have a female pet!!! So its always an overload in testosterone at mine! ... I never know what to do or how to handle it when my friends and their girls arrive and yep, mess comes with the territory I'm afraid! That's when you put on your Sergeant Major Hat and make them help to clean up... they'll do it, you just have to be specific in what you ask them to do! I have two step sons and three of my own, plus yesterday had Mr MumBum's brother, his young mates and my FiL and his mate, not a female except me!!! BUT they all dutifully put their dishes in the dishwasher, and picked up after they had played blocks and had pillow fights with my cushions in the lounge!LOL

Well we've dropped them back after having takeaways for tea and yep - it was loads of fun but very noisy and messy......
