It's official, and the internet has gone crazy with the news. Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis have split.

Unlike the swirling rumours we've heard for the last few months, this time Depp's publicist  released a statement: “Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis have amicably separated. Please respect their privacy and, more importantly, the privacy of their children.”

Depp and Paradis were together for 14 years (which is like 50 in celeb years), and have two children, Lily-Rose (13) and Jack (10). The good news is the break up is reported to be amicable.

Yes, ladies - it's true. Mr Depp is a single man again.

They're the second mega-couple to break up this year, after Seal and Heidi Klum separated in January.

Johnny Depp has been voted 'Sexiest Man Alive' (let's face it, he's pretty smoking hot), so I'm sure there will be a lot of happy fans out there today. But I'm not. I really liked them as a couple. I liked that they were non-traditional (they never felt they needed to get married) and thought they really complimented each other.

What do you think? Yay or nae to a single Johnny Depp? And after 14 years should they have tried to stick it out for a little longer?

The only time I have found him the most bit appealing is in Pirates of the carribean

I'm okay with it coz I'll be back next life as his cat!lol

But seriously, it is sad, their relationship gave me hope that not all celeb couples have to be all dramatic and what not.. at least there is no mention of "other parties" involved.

Lol, you'll have to beat me off first to comfort him SarahK and Julie!

But seriously it is sad and he has done so well to keep his family out of the limelight!

i was only half listening to the breakfast news but I thought I heard the presenter say "And in good news" she probably said "In showbiz news" or maybe she did express her crush on the heart-throb. It is never good news when a relationship breaks up especially when kids are involved.

Lol you can have him Julie!!

I do not find Johnny Depp the least bit attractive lol, if any a bit creepy actually!
SarahK - 2:51 PM Wed-20-Jun-2012

He's single!! omg!!! I'll comfort him!!!!

but in all seriousness, thats really quite sad. They have been together for ages. Can't be easy having a relationship when famous.
