Topic : What names has your child given to his/her dolls?
JulieKidspotter - `10` `2012-06-25 16:47:34`
Kids always seem to make up some amazing names for their dolls. What has your child chosen for theirs?

My daughter's dolls too have constantly changing names. Sometimes it's names of her friends from kindy, sometimes it's a name she would have heard on the TV and sometimes she just calls the doll Princess!

My Daughter Holly, has one favourite doll that is called ADAM. It is always commented on, becasue most people expect a doll to have a girls name, especially when it's dressed in pink ( it's quite hard to find blue doll clothes, but that's alright because Adam likes pink).

My son has imaginatively called his favourite teddy "Bear" so that doesn't win any prizes, but I do remember that when I was a little girl I had three dolls and I called them: Jenna Renna, Bookoo, and Lala (Teletubbies weren't even around then!). Mum has NO idea where I got those names from LOL!

We have had some very odd names over the years - I especially remember a doll called Fish (mind you, she was an eskimo doll) and a soft toy called YouTube.

Back in the day I was obviously boring.  My first doll was called Mary after my grandmother, my rocking horse was called Horace after my grandfather and my first Sindy doll was called Laura after the Little House on the Prairie books.

My little girl named her first 2 dollies after her friends!  Jemma and Miko.  Funny thing is, they kinda look like her little friends!    Baby Alive is either called 'bubba' or 'Seraphina' - depends on the day!

my eldest son's doll was called Olly. Ds2 has a soft dog that he calls Goldy. Ds3 is very literal in his naming, doll, dog, robot etc but he does change them frequently. Doll will become dolly wolly or ding dong doll for a day or two then switch back.

whoops, that anon was me, Jaime & Gudda's mum :)

Jaime's baby alive doll is Alyssa. My favourite name she has made up is the name for her imaginary sister 'Gudda' who has been part of our family since Jaime was 2.

My oldest didn't have a doll, but he did have a giant white rabbit which he named KALOTI...Samoan for carrot!lol

My girls's dolls are constantly changing. They call them after the babies they know or have seen on tv. They are also good at copying off each other so we might have several dolls with the same name some days.
