My3BoysandMe - `10` `2012-08-09 20:13:12`

Hey all, my name is Aynsley and I live in Waitakere.  I was cruising the groups and there seemed to be a group for all other areas of Auckland, so I thought I would make one especially for us Westies!

Feel free to join and add your two cents on anything and everything to do with the West!

You can park at the carpark by Cataline cafe and do the whole round trip (4km) which starts at the playground/field behind the cafe or if the little ones won't last that long you can actually drive to the end of the point - there is a road that goes past the yacht building place with speed humps then forks, you go right (which makes no sense to me) and at the bottom of the hill is the wharf. The gate to the right is sometimes open and you can drive even further in - all the way into the old base where the exploring begins :) Great for dogs and bikes too :)

Hey Emily! I'm glad you joined the group! Looks like we have a few things in common! I'm really looking forward to doing the hobsonville wallk, i have 3 boys and my two oldest would LOVE to walk around the airforce base!!!!  Where is the best place to park up to start the walk?

Oh another free thing: In the summer we did the Hobsonville walk heaps - 4km round trip goes across the airfield and round the old air force bits, along the wharf and back up to Catalina Cafe, but since all the contruction has been going on and it's gotten wet we haven't been for ages :)

Hi there, I have a little 14 month old girl and we like finding fun things to do around west too :) The hobsonville point playground and market is a great way to spend a sunday morning? Also love the Coatesville market too. Shame about the Kumeu market, has anyone here been to the Te Pai Wild West one??
